Seven of the ten Formula One teams are rumoured to be lining up a potential replacement for under-fire FIA President Max Mosley. The seven teams exclude the FIA-aligned Ferrari, Red Bull, who are to take a supply of Ferrari engines from next year, and Jordan, who have distanced themselves from the ‘Group of Nine’ since the departure of team founder Eddie Jordan. Although the identity of the potential Presidential candidate is a mystery, the teams are understood to be willing to back down from their threat of forming a breakaway series if Mosley resigns from his position as President.Mosley has recently drawn further criticism from the majority of F1 drivers for his decision not to meet them for a discussion on safety matters this Friday, citing ‘political’ reasons and attacking David Coulthard.
