Contrary to earlier expectations the A1 Grand Prix chief operating officer David Clare has confirmed that the Laguna Seca race will go ahead as orginally intended:

Despite challenges brought on by the prevailing weather conditions, Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca is confident that the track will be presented to the necessary standard required to host an A1 Grand Prix event.

This means a bumper weekend of single-seater action with the first round of the 2006 Formula One World Championship at Bahrain and the penultimate A1 Grand Prix round at Laguna Seca. Read our F1 season guide and Bahrain Grand Prix preview in the latest issue of F1Fanatic.
