Maro Engel converted pole to victory in the first round of the British F3 championship at Oulton Park.
The season got off to a dramatic start as three drivers crashed out at Cascades on the first lap. Following a safety car restart Engel retained his lead and kept it to the end despite pressure from Marko Asmer and Stephen Jelley.
Sam Bird set the fastest lap on the way to fourth with Sebastian Hohenthal fifth ahead of Jonathan Kennard.
