Royal Mail is issuing six speed-fuelled stamps to celebrate one hundred years of UK motorsport and the fiftieth anniversary of Sir Stirling Moss winning the British Grand Prix.

Packed full of passion and nostalgia, Grand Prix – issued on 3 July – features six stamps that commemorate some of the UK’s greatest drivers and their cars.

At the front of the grid are the two 1st Class stamps depicting the 1957 Vanwall 2.5L driven by Sir Stirling Moss and the 1962 BRM P57 driven by debonair Graham Hill, winner of the ?â?ó?óÔÇÜ?¼?àÔÇ£Triple Crown?â?ó?óÔÇÜ?¼?é?Ø – the Indianapolis 500, the 24 hours Le Mans and the Monaco Grand Prix.

A journey north of the border is offered on the 54p stamps, starting with the 1963 Lotus 25 Climax driven by Scots legend Jim Clark, who won 25 Grand Prix before his tragic death aged just 32. Clark is joined by his compatriot, the legendary Sir Jackie Stewart, here seen driving the 1973 Tyrrell 006/2.

The final two stamps feature the 1976 McLaren M23 driven by the Grand Prix cavalier James Hunt, and the 1986 Williams FW11 piloted by the ever gritty and determined Nigel Mansell.

An interview with Sir Stirling Moss appears in the Presentation Pack which also contains profiles of all the drivers written by motor racing journalist Richard Rae.

Julietta Edgar, Head of Special Stamps, Royal Mail said:
?â?ó?óÔÇÜ?¼?àÔÇ£Over the decades Britain has produced some of the world’s finest drivers and built many of the sport’s most famous cars.

?â?ó?óÔÇÜ?¼?àÔÇ£By bringing the men and their machines together we have tried to capture the speed, excitement and history of this incredible sport which will now be seen by millions on items of mail every day.?â?ó?óÔÇÜ?¼?é?Ø
