Edoardo Mortara won his second F3 race of the year in the first race at Barcelona, the start of which was delayed as heavy rain hit the Catalunya circuit.

He chased early leader Nico H?âãÆ?é??lkenberg, who started the race from pole but spun off on lap eight. H?âãÆ?é??lkenberg caught Mortara to finish just over a second behind him at the flag.

Romain Grosjean was classified third but was later penalised for having too many mechanics working on his car as the team rushed to set it up for wet conditions. He was relegated to 17th.

Tom Dillman therefore took third ahead of James Jakes, Franck Mailleux, Renger van der Zande, Edoardo Piscopo and Harald Schlegelmilch. Grosjean’s title rival Sebastien Buemi crashed out on lap 17.
