Davide Valsecchi won the sprint race at Monza – one week after being hospitalised in a huge crash at Spa-Francorchamps.

The Italian passed early leader Roldan Rodriguez to claim the win on home ground. He gambled on a setup geared towards dry weather in a race which started on a damp circuit that dried out.

Bruno Senna secured second place in the championship after rival Lucas di Grassi was given a drive-through penalty for crashing into Mike Conway.
