Vote for F1 Fanatic in the 2008 Weblog Awards

Last year F1 Fanatic was the only F1 blog nominated in the Best Sports Blog category. This year BlogF1.co.uk has also been nominated. I wish Ollie all the best but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to win!

Another F1 blog is nominated in two different categories. The excellent Sidepodcast is nominated in Best Community and Best Podcast, and I’m going to be voting for them too.

Last year F1 Fanatic was sixth out of ten in the Best Sports Blog voting with 269 votes. The winner was Kissing Suzy Kolber, an American Football blog, with 4,065.

KSK is in the running again this year, along with Deadspin, so the competition is very tough. Please vote now:

  1. Heh, I think you might just do better than me Keith! Best of luck though, I’m really pleased to see two F1 sites in the category – it’s about time! And to also see Sidepodcast in two other categories is awesome.

    1. Thanks Ollie! We’d probably all do better if we had as many pictures of girls on our sites as KSK do :-)

    2. You did have that lovely advert down the right hand side with the lady in lovely underwear.

I had to adblock it on my work PC though, better safe than sorry.

Just don’t stoop to ITV-F1’s level of voting for pitbabes.

  2. I can’t even make out what that KSK site is supposed to be for.

I voted for you mate, hope you win

  4. It’s more or less a given that KSK will successfully defend their title. The votes they have this early is crazy!

But it looks like we can gun for ‘best-of-the-rest’ honours.

    KSK: 975
    Deadspin: 173
    F1Fanatic: 79
    The Big Lead: 77

Deadspin has a good gap, but we can catch them. Oh, and we’re ahead of the rest too. :D

    1. When I first looked at the poll, maybe an hour or so after it had opened, KSK already had twice as many votes as I had in total last year!

  5. voted for you. hope you catch up to the rest.

  6. i’ve been voted for 3 times… in my apartment, my campus, my girlfriend house. if any chance i find another new “IP” i will vote again

    Good Luck Keith

    done !
    52.8%

    1. You had my hopes up there, Aqeel – think you were looking at KSK’s total! I’m going to go have a little cry now… :-)

  8. Voted for us, Keith!:)

  9. what is this Kissing Suzy Kolber anyway?? Is Suzy the Schumacher (micheal not ralf to clarify!) of the Sporting blogging world with that sort of domination???

  10. voted for you in all the computers in my house 4 times!!!

  11. Vote for f1fanatic , as long as we are higher than blogf1, we are the best Formula 1 Blog!!

    1. @Eddie Irvine: What a wonderful compliment. Thank you.

  12. And my forecast that we can gun for best-of-the-rest looks on target:

    KSK – 1316
    Deadspin – 272
    F1Fanatic – 248
    Harold Reynolds – 138

We’re safely in the top 3 right now, and very close to 2nd. C’mon, let’s keep this going!

  13. Just Voted and yes! We are catching Deadspin very fast!
    KSK apart, DeadSpin: 273, F1Fanatic: 249

  14. Sorry… 248!! :(

  15. Voted for you keith,

I have set up a reminder on my laptop to vote everyday till the 13th, am going home and will do the same when I get home too.

  16. A vote from Italy

For the best Formula Uno blog!

  17. *Click!* – although you’ll be sharing my daily votes with Ollie, – I found you through him, and feel that his excellent work is also well worth a few votes.

    1. @Kris: You found F1F through BF1? It’s normally the other way round. :) Thanks for your diplomatic voting though – as long as F1 does well against the might of American Football and Baseball we can be proud.

  18. Voting again this evening and tomorrow and…..

  19. Just voted! I think second is the best F1Fanatic can hope for now unfortunately but best of luck!

  20. Voted and good luck Keith – Perhaps it’s time to call upon the super powers of our Polish friends – Tell them it is Robert Kubica related and the votes will fly in.

Good luck to all F1 related sites – the quality is excellent and getting better all the time!

    1. Actually I absolutely agree with Scot!! Why not tag Kubica with this and lets c!!!

  21. Done! believe me, ill be voting every day, and i have 2 comps and a laptop and can get on the school comps to vote ;)

  22. Other than our Polish super-friends, I think Keith could use a Sky News appearance right now… :D

    1. I think Fox News would help more here – there’s a large American contingent in the contest.

  23. +1 :)

Although at this rate we’re going to have to organise parades in the streets. Free F1F t-shirts for all who take part? :P

  24. The balloting doesn’t look good for us or even for KSK at the moment – someone’s decided to go challenge them.

    KSK – 1568
    LoHud Yankee Blog – 950
    Deadspin – 387
    F1Fanatic – 298

    1. LoHud have suddenly leapt into the battle – it’s quite exciting actually!

  25. As an avid reader of Deadspin, Awful Announcing, KSK, AND F1 Fanatic, this competition is tearing me apart…

    Voted.
That’ll cost you a fiver, Keith.

  27. oke, I blindly voted for this site too… but isn’t it usefull to spam through the whole web to vote for f1fanatic? :P than we maybe get more :P

  28. +1 from ani…..
did anyone know we are currently running 4th?
i got dynamic IP address, so i guess i get different IP add. every time i switch my comp. on! ;)

  29. Keith, time to use the Polish card! That will hopefully decimate the competition. GOGOGOGOGO!

  30. Jan, 8th 2009 at 6’00 h:

    KSK 2955
    LoHud 1268
    Soccerby 1092
    Big Deal 519
    F1 Fanatic 394

We need our “particular KERS system” from everywere.

The big deal is… to overtake The big deal!

In any case, F1 Fanatic is fighting with much more popular sports, and is performing quite well (even not showing big pictures of babydolls asking for more votes… as some others do).
