Would have been better if they’d started under race conditions – Would have got a 10 then

7 – Overall a good race, but sadly it was started behind the safety car. Some boring parts too, including a Safety Car deployment.

that was a great race though it became a little strung out towards the end with the top 4 all far apart. the only thing that marred it for me with the irritating commentary from legard. he keeps telling us what’s on the screen, graphics and so forth, which is the worst, most pointless, thing he could do. i felt brundle couldn’t wait to interrupt him when he was getting too loud and obnoxious towards the end.

I agree, he just wouldn’t shut up on that last lap, would he?
I gave it 7/10. They should have started the race as normal. I saw no reason to start behind the safety car. I’ve seen them start in worse weather, and the rain was no better or worse by lap 6 when they pulled it in.
F1 is too safe now.

Is it too early to commence Legard bashing?? I’ll be honest, I thought he was terrible again.

Amazing that so many people rate this race so highly. I guess the rain made for a lot of incidents, but I’d rather see a proper race.
The start was already behind the safety car. So we got a boring start. The top drivers simply drover their laps and finished sort of in the order they started. Webber had some moves on Button who didn’t even try to defend.
Not much racing action behind the leaders either. Just a massive number of mistakes. I guess that could be entertaining to, but I don’t really enjoy it.
The only fun bit I saw was Raikkonen and Hamilton fighting it out 3 times.
I also have to agree with macca. Why does legard keep repeating who is “from” whom and then the same thing with the teams. Every lap (or half a lap) again.

I really enjoyed the race, what made the race so good was watching how well the drivers who finished at the top managed to handle their cars on the limit at every coener, every lap. Watching their skill level left my in awe. These cars are easily lost at those speeds in those conditions, ie Sutil’s off. Being able to catch the back end time and time again was amazing to watch, you can tell that they are the best in the world!! The race got an 8 for the safety car start however.

I was thinking the same thing!!
He is really annoying but I have to say, BBC’s coverage is brilliant. I got Setanta Sports just for the F1 but now I’m goin to watch the BBC for the rest of the season.
That was a good feature on the diffuser. I hope they do more of those as they are very interesting and not too hard to understand.
Hard Luck Adrian Sutil! Would have been nice to see him get some points for the old Jordan team!! Maybe next time!

Even the BBC couldn’t stop that race being a rather boring 5. Yeah they are on the limit but the constant rain made it far too predictable and meant less chances for drivers to climb up the field due to the spray.
However, bravo BBC really interesting and well thought through stuff, I do think though that DC needs to work on his interview technique hugely outclassed by MB on the grid walk, but it’ll come. Lose Legard, bring in frost and Davidson and of course keep Brundle.
I liked MG today, good insight into the engineering and technical side that wasn’t there for ITV cos they were playing for views by keeping things very simple.

I probably rated it higher than it deserved simply because of the end result ! Cos really, I didn’t enjoy the last 25 laps or so, I was too tense that something would happen to Webber.

I enjoyed the race, especially as there was no steward interference. How completely refreshing for all the discussion to be about the racing for a change. It also makes the articles a bit easier to read without 200+ commments on each one!
Those Red Bulls look absolutely bolted on in wet conditions. Great drive by Vettel again. There really are some top class young racers in F1 at the moment. And some not so good.
Only 4 days til it starts all over again! Hopefully a dry, safety car-free, steward meddling-free shoot out. Can’t wait…

Very good race- it would have been better if someone had really pushed Vettel for the lead, as it turned out it felt like Monza 2008 on reply. Still, a good day with some good action.

It was a great race and a brilliant drive by Vettel, just a shame we had a safety car start – I thought they should have just let them get on with it.
Shame that Vettel didn’t get a grid penalty in a way – I know I’m going to sound like an old man wanting penalties, but just some consistancy would be nice so that we can all be objective :)
