He's won four times now, no wonder everyone keeps picking him

The third round of the F1 Fanatic Predictions Championship saw Dougie take a narrow five-point lead in the standings.

Brouard21 and Pankit are close behind on 80 apiece. Lots of people predicted Button would continue his pole position and victory streak – but no-one named the top three correctly last weekend.

Here’s the standings so far.

Before this round two people pointed out that they had accidentally used two different names during the competition and wished to have their scores combined. If that has happened to you please let me know.

  1. i cant was soo annoyed when rubens and webber pitted for the lsat time a few more laps they would’ve leapfrogged button and a correct top 3 for me went :(

  2. Did anyone have a perfect score in this round?
    Keith, back to you.

    1. Nope (no-one named the top three correctly in the right order).

    2. Damon, no one had a perfect score, Keith said above.

Keith, am confused – “Brouard21 and Pankit are close behind on 100 apiece”, yet on your scoreboard they only have 80.

    3. 80 it is!

  3. I can’t help predicting who I want to win rather than who I expect to win. Wishful thinking does not help

    1. Just go for Button each week and then choose your favourites after that

  4. Oh, indeed. The “100 points apiece” must’ve somehow confused me.

  5. Webber was the right horse for Red Bull this time (I was right). But I hoped too much progress from McLaren and Hamilton. It seems that Ferrari worked better than them since Australian GP.
(And Lewis is losing respect from clever fans as quick as he can, with his silly words about Ron Dennis or the factory people’s work… The bottom line may be that he is no better man than Alonso, in fact. So we’ll just try to enjoy his driving, not his behaviour.)

Yeah Keith, my other name is Dougie :-P

i had button on pole button to win and barrichello 2nd, how many points would i score for that??

    1. You scored 35.

  8. I don’t know if this has been answered before, but if someone is unable to post their prediction once the article has gone up after free practice two because they are on holiday do they just e-mail it in as long as it is before the start of final practice on Saturday?

    1. Yep you can email your prediction in, as long as it’s before practice 3 start. One or two people missed the deadline this week I think.

  9. i personally y dont think that dougie should take the lead.
i would prefer alonsos to win!!!!!
    :)
    GO ALONSO

  10. My best prediction yet,I had Alonso for third place.(and he came close didn’t he?)This is more fun when you get some points.

Thanks for your efforts Keith! It must take a bit of time to sort through all the predictions.

      Thanks a lot man…:)

  12. I really hate to be a bother- I know you are very busy Keith, but after the first two rounds I had 25 points. In this round I predicted:

    ValveGuy
    Button
    Button
    Alonso
    Barichello

Wouldn’t that mean I get 10pts. for correct pole,
10pts. for one of top three correct
and 5 points for getting barrichello right, despite him being in the wrong position?
    For 25 total pts?
Making 50 not 45 the grand total for me? If you can’t fix it, not a big deal, I just thought I would let you know.

    1. I was worried you’d stumbled across an error in my worksheet but I’ve found the problem – you typed ‘Barrichello’ wrong, and my spelling-check thingy didn’t correct it. I’ve gone through it again and fixed one or two other problems that have given a few other people more points too. Updated points now listed above.

    2. Oops! My bad. I will watch my spelling in the future.

  13. wahey, 2nd place!

  14. ….only 25 points :-(

  15. many people type raikonnen instead of raikkonen, but this year it’s probably not going to be an issue :D
    ICEcreamMAN

  16. 50 points, I’m well stoked!! :-)

  17. p.s. Well done Dougie

  18. p.p.s There was a chap who was making comments on the live Spanish Grand Prix blog who is also named Dorian, but it wasn’t me….I think he’s from the States

Not that I minded because his comments were observant enough and fair…..I would’ved cared more if he sounded like a bellend ;-P

  19. Keith, sorry for the mistake but I have used two different names in this competition. At Bahrain, I used the name “Paul” whereas in Spain I switched to “Paul A.” since there are so many entries. I did note that I was formerly just “Paul.”

  20. Well, last week I was out of the country and, even though I watched the qualifying, I was having little internet access, so I completely forgot to make my predictions… can I still compete or am I out?

  21. Wow!! Just returned from my holidays all post-hols blues, but this is a nice pick me up :-)

I knew I’d scored well but I didn’t expect to be out in front alone, although only by a small margin and it’s a long championship… Monaco this weekend, and I think we’re in for a surprise this race.

    Cheers Dorian ;-)
