Here’s a round-up of F1 news and other interesting links I’ve found today.

If you’ve spotted a hot news story, interesting new website or just something funny from the world of F1, please share your links in the comments below.

Q & A with Felipe Massa

Felipe Massa on the future of F1: "if Ferrari is not here, maybe I will have a one-year holiday or drive in another championship. I don't know. We need to wait and see. I hope things will be okay, because Formula 1 without important teams would be very different, not nice for the sport. I really hope things will be okay."

Button not distracted by future talk

Jenson Button reckons the championship is anything but a done deal: "We've had six races and I've only got a 16-point lead. It's not a lot. If nothing changed now it would only be two races before the end of the season when I would have won it, and there's so much that's going to happen before then. It's definitely not going to be a walk in the park."

Racing jobs ‘hinge on F1 licence’

"Brabham Grand Prix Ltd has put in for a cost-capped licence for 2010. The motor sport's governing body will reveal on 12 June if the bid has been accepted."

Q & A with Mario Theissen

"When we had the meeting with Max [Mosley] in Monaco, it was his idea [for FOTA] to put in a conditional entry."

Turkey Press Conference

Sebastien Buemi on the difference between F1 and GP2: "I would say from the point of view when you are driving the car it is not such a big difference. Okay, you are faster, you brake later and you carry more speed into the corners. But I think it is more the way you work with the people around you. It’s quite a big difference because you work with only one engineer in GP2 but when you arrive in F1 you have got so many people around you and if you want to be competitive you need to be doing a good job with all of them and I think this is the biggest difference and it is what takes a bit of time to be learnt."

My old team – back in F1!

James Allen: "Middlebridge rather underestimated what F1 cost. They found to their horror that it was around £1 million a month. They weren’t very good at finding sponsors, but they did get a deal with Yamaha for engines for 1991. They also hired Martin Brundle and Mark Blundell, so that’s where my relationship with those two began. Brabham fizzled out in 1994."

Pantano to join Superleague Formula

No F1 seat for the GP2 champion – he’s stuck in Stupid Football Thing instead, and is also doing some Renault Megane races.

  1. The Concorde Agreement (if it follows those used in the past) includes the article which states The F1 Commission “shall resolve all matters concerning the FIA F1 Championship …….. and any changes to the regulations relating to such Championship”.
So, just what Max doesn`t want.
He wants “The WMSC may at any time make such additions or alterations to these Regulations as, in its absolute discretion, it considers necessary in order to ensure the achievement of the overriding objective” as in the Cap Regulations.
Hence why Max doesn’t want to sign the Concorde Agreement.

The above has appeared in the wrong thread again, sorry. Maybe you can delete it?

    On topic
I guess Felipe has those 2 choices if Ferrari leaves F1. He can either drive for them in another series or capacity or have a years` paid hilday :)

  3. Brabham, now thats a name from the past…

OI! stupid football thing?, Superleague is great… really odd to hear “Livepool overtaking Milan on the pen ultimate corner” though. Quite jarring in fact, but the quali is great!, this is how is plays out

the teams and drivers take it in turns to go round the track on their own, and here’s the bit that blows my mind, the fastest one gets pole and the second fastest gets second on the grid…. so on and so forth.

    Isn’t that crazy?.
