Great consistency from Buemi. Rosberg 0.64 off fastest lap and Nakajima 1.34 off. No doubt Rosberg is the much better driver and I will be surprised if Nakajima is in F1 next year. No points compared to Rosbergs 34.5. Button very consistent but not quick. Rubens much faster.

what race did you watch? Button was heavier for half of the race and in traffic most of the time. After 1st pit stops Button was consistently faster than Rubens by 3-4 tenths.

what race did you watch? Button was most of the time in traffic behind Kobayashi and heavier than Rubens. When he had free air he was consistently faster than Rubens by 3-4 tenths. He could have got a much better results if he managed to pass Kobayashi at 1st try.

Just for comparison I did my “laptime consistency” analysis. With fastest lap, average laptime of 5 fastest laps, median laptime and number of laps with less than 2 tenths off of the previous lap.

Obvious differences are Buemi and Webber. Buemi has slightly erratic laptimes, but indeed mostly within 1% of his fastest lap. Webber has pretty smooth laptimes, but he only had to push during his first stint, so most of his laps are indeed not close to his fastest lap.

Can we get one of these for every race? Awesome analysis! Looks like Kimi got the most out of his package.

Again, we can see here what a fantastic race have made Lewis Hamilton with his poor car.
For comparison, Vettel had a Rocket in his hand at Interlagos and Lewis, who started the race behind him, changed his strategy and raced his first stint much heavier than the german and, even so, finish the race in front of him — who has a car much better than the MP4/24…
I think, Keith, you should write a post analyzing how Vettel´s inability to overtake could have compromised his championship…

Look at Fisi compared to Räikkönen. He’s a lot slower and a lot less consistent. That Ferrari must be really hard to master, or perhaps starting at the back compromised his times quite a bit.

49/71 laps at that pace. Not bad for Buemi. Shame he couldn’t finish higher.
Kubica is impressive too knowing that he had to turn down his revs but still able to lap 4th Fastest, with high consistency

This paints a picture of sugar-water dominance. They were really half a second clear of the field—Barrichello set his lap on empty tanks in stint 1, and was nowhere after that. An, obbviously, after stint 1, Webber was never truly pressed and Vettel spent much of the day in traffic.
Button was distinctly adrift of Barrichello and on par with Hamilton, who massively out-raced him. This continued his established inability to maximize the car relative to his teammate.
Button did the best job over the season, but if you consider that next year’s car will be similar, its clear that the driver they fired is the one who can unlock its performance.
Ironically, this race may well save Slowvalainen’s job. Because he was very fast. He outqualified Hamilton and, on the same strategy, was in the race.

Rosberg’s consistency is impressive too. He only completed 20-something laps….
