Ferrari finished off its pre-season festivities with a kart race featuring both its 2010 race drivers.
Felipe Massa was unable to repeat his 2009 victory but he fared better than new team mate Fernando Alonso who crashed on the penultimate lap of the race. See video and pictures from the race and the rest of the event below.
The race was split into two parts. The first part was in Fiat Pandas which Massa won followed by Ducati Moto GP riders Casey Stoner and Nicky Hayden. Giancarlo Fisichella was fourth ahead of Alonso and Massa’s younger brother Dudu.
Part two took place in karts and as the video below shows the new Ferrari team mates had a fine scrap with Alonso passing Massa and getting a cheeky tap for his trouble, before spinning to a halt later on. Hayden won overall.
It’s all good fun of course but the competition between the two will be rather more serious when the racing proper gets underway.

Who would have ever thought Giancarlo Fisichella and Fernando Alonso would reunite as teammates? at Ferrari!

fisichella is like a bad rash that won’t go away. 17 years of getting blown away by your teammate???

Except that he was never beaten by a teammate until he came up against Alonso. Ralf, Wurz, Button, Sato, Firman, Massa – he beat all of them.

I don’t understand where this misinformation is coming from, I keep hearing negative opinions of Giancarlo.
I never expected him to be world champion, but he clearly deserves his spot in Formula One, for exactly the reason Andy has pointed out.

Yeah, it looks sweet. Power slides into every corner. This is a way to make F1 more interesting. Every race has to be on ice.

You know, after watching that, I can’t think why Kimi could have been so keen to avoid as much Ferrari PR duty as possible. Like a nightmare christmas torture session of charades. How long does it go on for? 3 days? Jesus.

In the first race I’d rather drive the pace car.

I presume this event is organised by marlboro, if so this gives a reason why ducati are there too. Does anyone know if this years Ferrari will have the barcode on it, or is banco Santander the new sponsor completely?
Praveen Titus

The barcode is almost sure to be there. Marlboro would want some form of publicity for sponsoring Ferrari. The Santander logo and name will be prominent though.

I wonder if Massa will be asked to return the crash favour back during the season. You know what I mean.

Keith, is there any chance for non-optimized pictures in the future, as it used to be?
Keith Collantine (@keithcollantine)

The pictures weren’t non-optimised before, they were less optimised than they are now. I need to strike a balance between quality and site performance, but I will use the best-quality pictures I can without impairing load times.
