Well at least Massa had good pace compared to Alonso.
Hopefully he’s used up most of his bad luck for a while. He was very strong at Valencia two years ago, so with Ferrari’s upgrades, he could be a dark horse.
Its also good to see that Stefano admitted that focusing on the F-Duct was a mistake, and now they need to focus on other parts of the car.

The technicall department seem to be opertating under poor judgement from above. They need to get there act together soon because they do seem to have the capacity to produce great cars.

Impressive times by Kubica did he change tyres at the end? Also nice to see Lotus getting very close to Sauber, hoping that they can get a point before the end of the season.

yes, Kubica left the soft tyres to the very end, hence the fast times.

Yes Kubica changed tyres on lap 60 hence the series of fastest laps

Nice to see that so many drivers pushed to the very end. Normally it seems most of the fast laps are towards middle of the race now almost every single fast lap was within the 10 last laps.
First fastest lap by Kubica and he did top 5 fastest to boot. Renault looks that they could be strong in the hands of Kubica the last half of the season.

“Normally it seems most of the fast laps are towards middle of the race now almost every single fast lap was within the 10 last laps.”
Obviously down to the lighter fuel tanks towards the end?

Yes but the last 10 laps or so have usually be drivers consolidating postition/saving fuel as oposed to going for it!! So although they weigh less they’re also short shifting and easing off earlier in the bends. I think that’s what Macahan ment!

Surprised to see that Massa didn’t get any fast laps at the end of the race, after pitting following that clash with Schumacher.

Thanks to these fastest laps in last 10 laps of the race, Kubica managed to reduce gap to Rosberg from ~13 secs (if I recall correctly) to ~1,3 sec. It was similiar to what he did in 2008 in Canada when his win depended on whether he would be able to pull enough from Heidfeld (to jump him in the pits) or not – he did a series of perfect laps to build ~25 seconds (or something like that) gap over NH.
Also its his first fastest lap, isnt it?

Of course in 2008, Heidfeld had much more fuel on board compared to Kubica. And, Heidfeld let Kubica through.

Of course. But for NH to be able to let RK through, RK needed to build that gap first
(I wish I had that race recorded to refresh my memory now and be more specific)

Yes, it is his first fastest lap.

DAMN! How did Alonso manage to put in a lap of 78.2 on lap44 ?!? All the times within he 76-78 sec were made in the last 8 or 9 laps of the race.
