i dont get it. is it just live twitter feed and chat?

    1. what more did you expect?

the real innovation is how to present that data. this is much better than coveritlive, imo. :)

      1. this is much better than coveritlive

        Glad you think so!

        1. It looks good.

        2. I like it as well. Good idea to improve.

        3. It’s very good as it allows to reply to comments to have more order and it’s easier to comment.

    2. Leandra’s at the track today and we’ll be getting updates from her later on too.

  2. F1 Fanatic Live is a great idea!

Something strange for me though. It says the first day of the test is completed, with the countdown saying the 2nd day is 5hrs away. Possibly something to do with me being on New Zealand time?

    1. …i’m using Chome 9. :-)

  3. Still no sign if the HRT boys then? in a weird kind of way i will miss them

    1. Just because they haven’t shown for day one of the test doesn’t mean they are out completely. The test is planned for four days, but some teams are running Tuesday-Friday whilst others are doing Wednesday-Saturday. Hispania fall into the latter category, and they have said it will run on Wednesday or Thursday. As soon as the car is ready to go out on track, it will be going out on track. They might just have to use the F110 on Wednesday if the F111 isn’t ready in time.

      1. Confirmed by http://www.caranddriverthef1.com:
HRT will show and run his T111 on thursday.

  4. According to Luiz Razia’s Twitter feed, Team Fernandes won’t be running Jarno Trulli today. Instead, they’ve decided to give both rookies more track time, so Davide Valsecchi will take the morning shift and Razia the afternoon.

    1. Thanks, hadn’t seen that. Trying to run three drivers in one day did seem a bit much though!

    2. I had said it looked too busy to run 3 drivers!

  5. what is that crazy thing on the maccas nose?

    1. It’s a load sensor.

      1. Button is now doing a race simulation.

      2. They are going to paint it ‘Red’ for Red Nose Day on Friday!

    1. It’s a load sensor.

      1. So, it’s just for testing then?

        1. Yeah. McLaren’t problem is that they can’t get enough downforce. That sensor is obviously there to measure the load being placed on the front wing, since downforce manifests as downward pressure being placed on car parts. McLaren are trying to isolate which parts of the car aren’t producing as much downforce as they’d like so that they can find a remedy.

    2. Looks like the mp4-26 has a large pimple on its nose

      1. either that or been in a fight with the Redbull..?

  6. the new live system looks awesome! it looks slick, the posts come in regularly, and the layout is nice.

with firefox 4, the compact layout seems to work a lot better.. the standard uses up too much space

but all in all, it plays like a high-speed version of facebook!

    1. agreed, really great app. congrats Keith

  7. Please post the msfree.gr link

  8. The Live app is so so so much better! Any plans to integrate the Login function with our F1F accounts?

    1. Yep it’s being looked into. There is a cost involved so I’m doing the sums and having a think.

  9. http://photos.gpupdate.net/large/170670.jpg

some teams will do anything to cool their engines ;)

    1. Interesting, that would not have been very fast.

Also the first time I saw that sponsor message on the Saubers rear wing.

  10. Finally McLaren does a lap of note.

Pos Driver Team Time Diff Laps
    1 M. Webber Red Bull 1:22.544 – 50
    2 J. Button McLaren 1:22.937 +0.393 51
    3 N. Heidfeld Lotus-Renault 1:24.735 +2.191 20
    4 D. Valsecchi Team Lotus 1:25.406 +2.862 50
    5 S. Perez Sauber 1:25.443 +2.899 54
    6 N. Hulkenberg Force India 1:26.030 +3.486 31
    7 S. Buemi Toro Rosso 1:26.087 +3.543 13
    8 J. d’Ambrosio Marussia Virgin 1:32.060 +9.516 35

And Lo, button laps only slightly slower than the Red bull.

Perhaps the 26 isn’t a dog after all.

  12. Should Button really be 6.5 seconds behind, regardless of whether it’s just a race simulation or not ?

  13. Arrrgghhhhh. I am too slow. Apologies. Maybe it’s not THAT bad for McLaren then ?

    1. lol. looks like a duck.

      1. haha thats brilliant :)

    2. they could call it MP4-26B, where B stands for ‘Beluga’…

i know we arent speculating on these times as it is just testing, but it’s interestig to see that the tope teams are off their last years times by two seconds where as Lotus are matching their last year times.
a lot probably due to developments throughout the year, but but nice to see them closing the gap.
hopefully they arent too manipulated, i.e. weight etc.

  15. i get the feeling HRT have no car nor no money, and the car we saw a few weeks back was just a mish mash of others put together in an attempt to hide the fact they have nothing, it would be great to see them with a car just i dont think they have anything.
