Apologies to everyone who was affected by the site outage over the past two days which lasted around 16 hours.

This was a pretty major problem due to a data corruption error of which we had no prior indication.

The site is not completely back in running order yet but will be in time for this weekend. Happily there appears to be no significant loss of data.

Apologies again and sincere thanks to those who helped get the site back up and running again!

As always if you have noticed any problems with the site (whether or not it relates to yesterday’s downtime) please create a new thread to describe them in the F1 Fanatic site development group.

The only difference between yesterday and now (as far as I can tell) is the loss of avatars: some accounts still have one (my guess is they have Gravatars), and for some reason a new one cannot be uploaded. It returns the following string, though I don’t think that’s the actual problem:

There was a problem cropping your avatar, please try uploading it again

But anyway, good to see the site up and running again :)

Same for me @andae23. But I don’t care for an avatar loss when F1F is back!

I’m still getting the issue of not being able to upload an avatar, so I’m obviously still left without one. I know this isn’t probably the correct place to report it but since I imagine it’s a common issue with others due to the site down is there a way I can get the upload function to work @keithcollantine? I’ve been getting “GD image library unavailable” when I try to upload a new one.

EDIT – I’ve just spotted your message, I’ll start a new thread then!

Ever since last week, I’m getting “You are posting comments too quickly. Slow down.” messages everytime I try to post something on the comments, even if it’s my first comment for hours…

Anyone else having the same problem? @keithcollantine
