    1. Oh dear Maldonado…

      1. It’s hardly his fault he’s had terrible reliability and luck is it?

        1. Nope, but its still embarrassing to look at.

    2. It’s many things that happened that made Vettel earn ground anyway on the second placed man, but two drivers have overtaken Lewis in the standings and Button is second! We lost two protagonists, Alonso and Hamilton, but Vettel’s error has shown he isn’t unbeatable. He must feel sad but Jenson’s progress was enthusiastic to watch.

      1. Drivers around Button during that pitstops did quite well including Button himself.(Webber, Schumi) Now I think if Alonso was still there, it could be more exciting…

        1. What was Alonso’s catch up last year? I mean from Germany to Korea last year, out of 175 points, he took around 115. During that same period Hamilton took just 40 and Webber got only about 80, so Alonso gained about 50-75 points on the leader of the championship? My point is – mark my words Alonso isn’t out of this title hunt yet.

    3. The brazilian TV “Globo” didn’t broadcast the race on its totality, even though it has exclusivity in Brazil for F1. Isn’t it a contract break? How can we complain about that, anyone knows?
And what a race I wish I could have watched it all!
      Regards, Alex.

I know how you feel Alex. That was totally disgusting. The Brazilian football championship has what, 760 matches? And they can’t skip a single one?!

Thank God there was a BBC stream!

      2. TELL ME ABOUT IT! I am furious! Button is one of my favorite drivers, and I wanted to see his win!

    4. Now it seems like we hope Button gets more wins and fight with Vettel for the title.

      1. Button, Hamilton, Alonso and Webber will just continue to take points off each other while Vettel collects podiums every race. Sorry but Seb’s got this.

        1. I think so too. What we need are some Vettel’s failure…

          1. Vettel would have to break a leg. 3 failures wouldn’t be enough.

    5. Oh dear Virgin…

Ps anyone know if BBC Forum is on?

      1. There isn’t any.

    6. Looks like 3rd/4th in the Constructors Championship is gonna be a real fight.

    7. Kobayashi on par with both Mercedes… in his Sauber !

    8. He’s walking away with it…

    9. As an Alonso fan, I’m absolutely gutted. He was unlucky with the weather prediction, pit stops and Jenson’s bumper car moves. Nearly a 100 points behind… I think Ferrari and him are going to throw in the towel soon.

      1. Same here.

    10. If Vettel finished second to Lewis for the remaining races, he’d only lose the champonship by 8 points.

    11. I would be tempted to say stick a fork in this one. But when you saw the massive race pace edge of McLaren here in the dry, McLaren must still feel they have a shot at the titles. With the HBEBD ban coming for Silverstone, maybe they will have more of a shot. Vettel is going to have to have a few Sundays like Hamilton had today, but it could happen.

    12. So disappointing for Glock this season has been…
Remember how fast he was in the Toyota?

      1. He didn’t set the world on fire when he was at Toyota either. He was marginally better than Trulli… which isn’t saying much.

        1. I know points aren’t everything, but along with Trulli outscoring Glock, I remember Trulli usually being faster and more competitive in both years they were together.

    13. What I find rather odd is that… okay, Vettel has been clearly superior and had a commanding display in the first four rounds. But… McLaren clearly got the better of them in Spain in race pace, in Monaco, McLaren was on par with them on one-lap pace with Ferrari closing in again in race pace, and last but not least both of these teams were clearly superior to Red Bull in terms of race pace in Montreal; if you really dig yourself into the time sheets you can see.

So what I find odd and disturbing is that this catch-up is not turning into race results and consequently a closing in in points. Or just in a very little amount.

Vettel got away with two win and a 2nd place during this – to him – strained period. Fernando, who theoretically had the upper hand in race in Monaco and Montreal bagged in a 2nd and a DNF.

And so on… It disturbs me when someone gets the very best out of him like Fernando did in Monaco and in Canada – and circumstances prevents him getting the best results.

It’s not like Lewis: clearly he has the potential and possibly had the best hooked on setup in Monaco and in Canada, but was unable to translate it to wins because of his own faults – well even he had bad luck in Q3 in Monaco.

Whereas if Red Bull makes a mistake in form of a pit stop strategy error in Monaco for instance, it goes unpunished, what’s more rewarded.

    14. Seems Button is keeping his head down for the best part of the championship, genuinely surprised to see him 2nd. Looks like the battle for 2nd has been narrowed significantly due to a disaster for Alonso.

      Petrov should be very proud.

    15. We’ll see what happens with the blown diffuser change. McLaren and Ferrari might be able to reel Vettel in. Maybe Mark Webber’s form will improve too.

I think Red Bull have the constructors in the bag, but Vettel can still lose the Championship.

    16. They might as well give Vettel the championship trophy today.

    17. 9 Michael Schumacher 26
      10 Nico Rosberg 26

“How do you like that?” would say Michael to his teammate :-)

      1. Now he needs to keep gaining 12 points on his teammate in almost every race :)

    18. So if HRT was 13th then shouldn’t they be higher than Lotus in standings?

      1. No, because Lotus have two 13th-place finishes.

        1. Thank you.
But still it’s great result for them.
