    1. Any serious competitor will want to leave predictions till the last minute however just from what I saw in FP2 I am going to predict;
      1. Seb V because I would be stupid not to, he wants to win the championship in style, he wants the records for most poles and wins in a season, he gets a half-million Euro bonus for every win, k-ching.
      2. Button because he’s the fastest man out there so far and has great race-craft.
      3. Webber because he can usually be relied on to make a podium and he was faster than Seb for a lot of FP2.
      4. Alonso because he is fast but will probably have tyre problems
      5. Hamilton because his head will be undecided between Banzai or calculated progress and he has not yet shown much pace, but he could surprise and win, you never know with Lewis.

    2. Oh lord. I just bet on Vettel having his one and only DNF of the season. Just like Ferrari, at this stage you got to try ANYTHING out…

      1. I thought about that, but I think Vettel’s too good and mature for that. He will just drive like he does all year: make sure he’s leading the pack as soon as he can, disappear at the horizon and leave us with the fight for second.

Then again, it still is a mechanical sport… Hm…

@Electrolite well let’s see if Vettel makes his major mistake on this race. I bet him as first and Alonso second

        1. I don’t think it would be a mistake on his part necessarily. I just the irony of him having a DNF at this stage would be incredible and knowing I’m doing terribly in the prediction’s championship brings out the gambler in me ;)

      3. LOL .. I gave up on those chances since Spa. It’s just not going to happen this season. The two undoing races he had at the start of 2010, yeah, karma is paying him back with none this year!

      4. Yeah, I didn’t predict Vettel in the top 5 either. I get a feeling his demise/delay will be more due to some other driver/incident rather than a mechanical or brainfart problem.

    3. I’ve gone for a Webber win. The first time I’ve predicted that this season. I think it’ll be a Red Bull 1-2, and there’s no question of Vettel handing over the lead for Mark to get 2nd in the WDC as he’d want to win in style, so Mark would have to win on merit. I think he can, he’s due a bit of luck and a win. For what it’s worth, I don’t think he’s been unlucky this year, he just hasn’t been as quick as Vettel.

I predict a clash (and crash) between hamilton and Webber, so they are not on my top five. Instead, I put Schumacher and Sergio Perez completing the list. Probably too optimistic about Perez but who knows. First Vettel, second Alonso and third Button. LET’S SEE……….

    5. Vettel pole, Vettel win. No-brainer.

    6. Not sure to do as well as last GP but hope to stay in contention for the top places! ;-)

    7. Is the deadline counter set correctly? It shows around 10h 30 m now, and if I’m not mistaken, there’s 11h 30 m till start of the quali.

    8. I’ve gone for a Vettel DNF, well surely its gotta happen at some point.

      Hamilton on pole,

I would of gone for a HAM, BUT 1-2 but if the DNF I predict for Vettel happens then Mclaren would need to swap them.

That would be spicy. Imagine the post race interviews with Hamilton, lol, team player?

Maybe I making a another wishful thinking prediction but I’d love that drama to play out and the championship would remain open for another race.

      1. If Button is in front of Hamilton there’s no way McLaren will swap them.

        1. Or even the other way round :)

    9. Going to play this for the first time ** laziness is my excuse **

went for the conservative approach.. filled the top 5 drivers from the top three teams.

    10. My predictions are as follows… no idea why:

      Pole Time – 01:27.925
      Pole – Jenson Button
      Position 1 – Lewis Hamilton
      Position 2 – Jenson Button
      Position 3 – Felipe Massa
      Position 4 – Fernando Alonso
      Position 5 – Mark Webber

    11. I didn’t follow FP2 but I think we’ll have again a RBR in pole, the #1 on front of course. I hope a podium for Alonso but it will be difficult.

    12. Not to be nitpicky but I’ve noticed a usability issue on the page. I’m viewing the site on a MacBook Air running OSX Lion and the button to log my prediction looked greyed out. Kinda like it does in some programs or webpages when you still have something to do in order to submit. Now that I look at it all of the buttons in the comments area are a bit ghosty as well.

      Speaking of buttons, go Jenson!

      -McBride

      1. oh and I’m using Chrome ver 14.0.835.202

    13. Since I have slipped badly to 44th in the standings, I have gone out on a limb with my predictions in an effort to try & claw back some ground, hopefully the gamble will pay off for me.

    14. Pity F1 is nearly on the same timezone as us aussies this weekend, clashes with the crucial Bathurst bits :s

      1-Jenson B 2-Lewis H 3- Sebastian V 4-Fernando A. 5- Mark W

    16. How come I cannot change my prediction 1 hour before the deadline?

      1. Glitch with the timer, OK now.

    17. Button pole, Button win. It’s the pole time I flipped a coin over (no clue).

The following finishers were a big guess. I guessed/hoped Vettel wouldn’t finish, so it was a tossup between Alonzo, Webber, Hamilton, and a random other driver (I gave it to Schumy).

    18. Predictions closed early???

    19. Vettel pole (check) and Vettel to win, with Button 2nd.

    20. @keithcollantine I made a prediction but didn’t get an e-mail, what does that mean?
