There was plenty of fan footage to be found from the Australian and Malaysian Grands Prix, but not as much from China and even less from Bahrain.
The latter is to be expected given the situation in the country during F1’s visit this year.
Here are some of the better videos shot by fans at the last two races.
Chinese Grand Prix
The start
A great shot of the start overlooking the finishing line in the massive grandstand at Shanghai.
Another view of the start. Keep an eye out for Pastor Maldonado running wide to avoid contact with his team mate.
Schumacher and Hamilton
Lap 12: Michael Schumacher comes out of the pits behind Lewis Hamilton – but he retires moments later as the team have failed to fit a wheel correctly.
Race weekend
Various clips of footage from throughout the race weekend.
Bahrain Grand Prix
Practice
A quiet start to the weekend at turn one.
Race weekend
Edited footage from the race weekend.

Spot the differences between the Shanghai and Bahrain videos.
Here’s a hint: there’s about 30,000 of them.

more than that right? Bahrain was probably 5,000 on race day incl. VIPs.
China was more like 50,000?

More like 75,000 to 100,000. The main grandstands were completely full and the two opposing stands at the hairpin were 95% there. It’s a huge place. I’ve been there the past 5 out of 6 years and this is the largest crowd I’ve seen yet.

I didn’t realize f1fanatic put up fan videos on the site or else I would have posted mine sooner. So if you want to see more videos, including one showing just how popular Kimi is in China, you can see my post and uploaded videos HERE. Enjoy.

Seems like Bahrain’s silent majority forgot to take their video cameras.
