Predictions win puts Rajamaniarun second

Predictions Championship

A clear win in the Belgian Grand Prix round of the Predictions Championship moved @Rajamaniarun up to second place and earned them a 1974 Autocourse eBook as a prize.

Second place went to @davidr74 with 11 points and he wins a Grand Prix Heroes DVD from Duke Video.

But @Infernojim needed the pole position tie-breaker to claim third place after tying with ten other places. Getting within 0.3s of Jenson Button’s pole position time earns him an F1 poster from PJ Tierney.

A surprise pole sitter and first-lap shunt which eliminated several front-runners made for a low-scoring round. Only nine players (1.46%) picked Button to win the race. Kimi Raikkonen was the favourite, tipped by over 40%.

The result means @Chrissylyn holds a reduced lead in the championship ahead of @Gabal and @Rajamaniarun.

  1. 4 points. damage limitation…

  2. Ooof, 2 points — my worst score yet. Luckily, it wasn’t great for most other people, either…

  3. Ah, the fine margins of prediction that makes my RAI/RAI-BUT-ALO-HAM-WEB worth tuppence… Good fun.

  4. @Infernojim

Take a look around for an A3, in-stock poster and contact me via this page with your name/address :) http://shop.pjtierney.net/

  5. With Alonso, Grosjean and Perez out at the start, my only hope was that Raikkonen and Vettel would end up in the right spot, which they didn’t… 2 points, but still in the Top 30.

  6. Grosjean rendered my Kimi/Vettel/Button/Kobayashi/Alonso prediction almost useless.

  7. 2 points. Oh, please, Grosjean! :D

  8. How do we pick d’Ambrosio for Monza? Can you change it – or should we just choose “Romain Grosjean”?

    1. Ah I’m not the only one with that problem … Always picking my prediction at the end of the previous race to have a backup then update it in time.
Either you putt Grosjean and wait to see or we have to wait until the choice is confirmed.

  9. Alonso, Hamilton and Perez retired on lap one, and Webber failed to finish in the top 5. Only scored a single point for having Raikkonen in the top 5!

  10. Yeah!!!! I won!!! I won!!!…:)

  11. AWESOME! I never win anything. To be fair I only came 3rd, but I still won a poster!

    1. @rajamaniarun @infernojim
Congrats to both of you, not beter than a 3

  12. Is it just me or do you think the first prize is the worst prize (eBook)? If I won, I’d want the poster for sure. Congrats to the winners!

  13. Lost third place by 0.003s on pole time prediction. Oh well, better than being an F1 driver and losing pole to that margin I suppose. :P

  14. The first lap carnage completely wiped out my predictions…

  15. A terrible weekend for me. I predicted Raikkonen for pole and Hamilton for the win. Well done to the victors!
