   far far long way to go for Alonso. He needed the win here but it’s missed. I hope he would win in Silverstone.

      Yeah. That Ferrari only really has an advantage on high degradation tracks or if the RBR cars are stuck in dirty air.

         Not sure about that. They’ve been the fastest car everywhere except Monaco and Australia (where they were much quicker than the Red Bull still). The Ferrari would have challenged for the win if Alonso could have qualified on the front row.

         It will be hard to beat the Ferrari at Silverstone.

      I think Alonso should be positively surprised. He thought he was “eighty or eight-five points behind“, so 36 points shouldn’t seem so bad ;)

   Kimi woes last year is repeated. slump in Monaco and Canada…

      Kimi was running a solid 5th in Monaco, behind teams who are better in qualifying.

      But today everything just went wrong, Kimi had a brake problem he had to brake earlier for the whole race, he had to conserve fuel and he had a problem at his pitstop. On top of that Lotus was just plain slow.
      Pretty bad day for the team.

   Kimi is doing a tremendous job keeping Lotus in touch with the Mercedes, Ferrari and RedBull considering how few points Romain has picked up in comparison.

   Paul’s 8th is really good considering he is not in a Top 4 car, he is performing well and had another nice recovery drive this evening.

      That’s what popped up in the standings for me as well. Whining and complaining aside, 2013 might actually be Di Resta’s best shot at finally beating his team mate. And by driving well-enough too!

      I agree but Lotus is a very quick car at some tracks Aus, Chi and Spain is not all about Kimi having a slower car than the rest. They have such an advantage with Tyre’s.

      Look at Merc, check the history of F1 and for a team who had a 1-2 grid position in a race recently and could only finish 7th and 12th and had no reliablility problems to cause the finishing position, tells a lot about these tryes. Look at Aus Kimi could do faster laps on more worn tyres and he qualified well down the grid.

   Controlling from the front just doesn’t look exciting but what a drive from Vettel again!
   It will be hard for anyone. I hoped – and still hope – for Kimi and Lewis to mix it up with Fernando and Sebastien, but I fear it’ll be a 2 horse race this year.

      @verstappen as a F1 fan, it wa boring, but me as a Vet fan is just right. And shows that when it’s tim to win for him, he grinds almost everybody else

      If anything, Sauber are going to have a monumental task if they want to catch up with Toro Rosso this season.

      Especially if Williams manage to score some points later this season. A real shame, I expected much more from Sauber this season.

         @npf1 – Frankly, this might just turn out to be a much bigger hit for Sauber than anticipated.

         They already have financial difficulties even with Slim pumping money into the team, the negotiations with the so called “eastern-european investor” seem to have broken down, with Claro going to McLaren next season even if they don’t lose the sponsorship deal altogether I find it hard to imagine it will be the same amount of cash going Sauber’s way, they’ve lost Key to their direct competitors, their driver pairing isn’t great, 2014 is round the corner and with mid-season testing returning and the massive development needed it’s gonna cost A LOT etc. etc. etc.

         Now, if on top of that they end up 8th or 9th in the WCC, I think it’s safe to say Sauber is in serious trouble.

         And the worst part is that they don’t even look like they’re trying to improve their performance that much. At least Williams (who are in a similar situation) are constantly testing out new specs, parts and setups on fridays. Sauber just look overwhelmed by the whole 2013 affair.

   Number 2’s (except Rosberg) are doing a poor job this year so far.

   WEB has 52% of VET points
   MAS has 51% of ALO points
   GRO has just 29% of RAI points
   ROS has 74% of HAM points
   SUT has 50% of DIR points
   PER has 48% of BUT points

   So can we say most of the number 2’s are doing half as good a job as the number 1’s ?

      You mean “except Hamilton”, as he is the “number 2” at Mercedes this year ;)

         Yes technically he is the number 2 but on points he is number 1 which is what I was basing this on.
         I do not class Rosberg as the number 2 driver just yet, they are fairly equal, but feel he will be the clear number 2 sooner or later.
         Ross likes a clear number 1 driver to focus on and has hinted (IMO) at Lewis being the No. 1. Lewis is a world champ after all.
         Also as Lewis has slightly more points at this stage he will be the favoured one if it comes to it.

      I think its a little harsh to go on epoints alone. Sutil has had a lot of bad luck.. he should actually have more points than Di Resta if it wasn’t for factors outside his control. Similarly, Perez has looked much more impressive than Button since Bahrain.

      I would agree on Webber, Massa and Grosjean though. Those drivers have just been poor compared to their teammates

         Yes true Sutil has had some back luck, I like Sutil.

         If you call driving recklessly impressive then yes Perez has been much more impressive than Button since Bahrain. Can’t say I’ve really noticed him except when he rammed it up the inside of Kimi in Monaco. I don’t like Perez.

         Webber and Massa need to up their game which they are more than capable of. I like them.

         Grosjean needs to leave F1 really. He is not good enough, or maybe Kimi is too good? Yes maybe. But I like him anyway.
