Mclaren are finally securing fifth place, never though I would see the day that they were mid fielders

They actually were consistently in the midfield in late seventies and mid-nineties. Nothing that new really!

For someone to catch Vettel, they need to have a dominant car and have to be inch-perfect for the next 9 races. Kind of like how Vettel was last season. He led what some 200 laps in a row? From Singapore-Japan-Korea-India.
On the grid, I think only Alonso is capable of doing that. If Ferrari find a little bit extra pace, some hope is there for the championship.

vettel was in a redbull being developed by Newey, thats why he caught Alonso.. On the other hand, this year the trailing car is a ferrari, so no chance!!!
Roberto (@roberto)
25th August 2013, 15:12
Their pace was great today. It was Alonsos mistake in qualifying yesterday that made it easy pickings for Vettel today. If anything, Ferrari and Alonso need to stop making mistakes (and improve their qualifying performance).

WDC is almost over.
Max Jacobson (@vettel1)
25th August 2013, 14:59
If there’s no similarities to last year in Monza with Vettel having a failure, then this is progressively not becoming last year. 24 point lead after Belgium for Alonso last year, 46 for Vettel this year (almost twice as much).

@vettel1
Yeah, I never thinked that 2013 was going to be 2012. Red Bull is a fast car and I expect them to win races in this second part of the season. Ferrari wasn’t able to do that last year. And, frankly, I don’t expect Ferrari to win many races in the rest of the season.
But anything can happen, to be honest. I wouldn’t take for granted that Vettel is going to win this WDC, but it’s likely.
Max Jacobson (@vettel1)
25th August 2013, 16:15
@yobo01 anything can happen, but I think the comparisons in the standings between this year and last stop now. Vettel’s even had a retirement and still has the advantage (Vettel and Alonso both had high-profile retirements by this time last year, same for now only the gap is bigger between them).

The WDC? Over.
Max Jacobson (@vettel1)
25th August 2013, 16:17
It’s the WCC that’s looking increasingly over – that’s almost two 1-2’s now a lead RBR have…
Breno (@austus)
26th August 2013, 1:00
After seeing the look on Alonso’s face after the race, yeah, unless Vettel finishes out of the points in Monza, it’s over.
Jeevan (@jee1kimi)
25th August 2013, 16:21
Kimi down to 4th from 2nd in the drivers’ championship just in a span of 1 race!!!
And also,Kimi had either finished on the podium(4 wins + 3rd place last year) or not finished the race in Spa everytime before..Continued that today with race retirement!!!
