Aside from a single damp practice session in 2010 the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix hasn’t seen any rain, a trend which is likely to continue this weekend.
Three days of hot weather with temperatures easily clearing 30C are forecast for the days ahead.
Second practice, qualifying and the race are held as dusk gives way to nightfall. This leads to a slight fall in temperatures rather than a sudden drop, though that can be enough to catch teams out, particularly in qualifying.
“We need to keep one eye on track temperatures as they will start to drop away as darkness falls, but the drop-off is not particularly significant,” said Lotus’s trackside operations director Alan Permane.
“We usually see ambient temperatures of around thirty degrees and this doesn’t change dramatically even in the evenings so it won’t be a problem; particularly with the tyre allocation here.”
There will be regular updates on the track conditions during each session on F1 Fanatic Live and the F1 Fanatic Twitter account.

I don’t know where it is you get all these stats, but it’s excellent information and is greatly appreciated :D

It’s been a while since there was rain during a race, hasn’t it? I can’t remember the last time there was a wet race – only that Australia had a very wet and delayed qualifying session and that Malaysia started out wet, but aside from those, have there been any wet races this season?

Indeed, not a proper wet race all year. No race laps done on the wet tyre, and a maximum of 8 (Rosberg) on the inters.
No idea where one might find statistics for such things, but I can’t remember a year ever being this dry. Maybe Brazil might throw up a good storm or two.

We had a wet start in Malaysia this year and that was it. Last year Malaysia and Brazil were wet. In 2011 had Canada, Hungary and the British GP wet. In 2010, we had Australia, Spa and Korea. It seems we get plenty of wet Friday and some wet qualifying sessions, but the rain stays away for the race. It is so frustrating, nothing better than a wet race! Brazil tends to be a wet race so hopefully that comes through for us! From memory, 01, 03, 04, 05, 08, and 12 were all damp/wet with 09 and 10 wet qualifying sessions.

Ice lollies and alcohol are banned in UAE.

Even ice lollies? oO
Ah OK, I thought it had something to do with what happened at the Indian GP with his team ^^

F1 has actually motivated women to take up driving in UAE. Who says F1 is useless?
