I would have loved to see both the Merc drivers battle it at the front.. it would have made for an even more exciting race. But, Nico’s retirement just made them championship much more interesting.
I think it was about time that Nico had a DNF while leading a race. Would hate for reliability to be used as an excuse by the Merc driver that doesn’t win the WDC

The word of the season has been ‘momentum’. The pendulum has swung firmly back to Hamilton in this regard. There’s a long way to go, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the start of Hamilton pulling away from Rosberg in the Championship as I always thought he would.

Some people are wishing for some Hamilton momentum namely the British fans. Apparently Nico doesn’t need all that stuff he just puts his head down and drives and gets on with it. Lewis needs all that fluff to keep his ego together. All this race proved is that fate is a cruel mistress it gives one day and takes the next. The race is still on there’s a long way to go yet. Will it be the tortoise or the hare?

Red Bull were saying that they are the best of the rest. The recent achievements of Williams, with two podiums for Bottas, and the excellent recoveries for Alonso, who gave Vettel a hard time although (if the info is correct) he had a battery issues, suggest a different situation. I think Red Bull will need to improve significantly if they want to keep their “best of the rest” status, or the second place in the constructors championship.
