Despite a wobble in the final round, @juan-fanger became the 2015 F1 Fanatic Predictions Champion in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend.
On three separate occasions this year @juan-fanger managed to correctly predict the top five race finishers in the correct order before qualifying had started. They took the top prize of a £1,600 NVidia gaming system to play Codemasters F1 2015 on.
Second place – and a brilliant Memento Exclusives F1 brake disc clock made from a genuine car part – goes to @spinynorman, who also managed a pair of perfect predictions during the course of the year. @Timtoo, the only other player to score more than 300 points, ended the year in third place and wins a motor sport painting of their choice from Rob Ijbema.
The next five players in the standings each won a signed copy of Nigel Mansell’s new autobiography. They are @TheDohc, @JohnH, @haddock5, @ap04 and @danieljaksa.
We also had our final set of race weekend prizes to award. A perfect score earned @fistzi the top prize after the pole position time tie-breaker was used as @BensonJutton81 had also scored a maximum 50. The tie-breaker also had to be used to decide who finished third: @forcef1 was just 0.034s away and therefore took the final prize of the year:

The Ultimate F1 2015 Experience with NVidia and Codemasters
This year’s F1 Fanatic Predictions Champion will win a one-off and seriously desirable prize thanks to NVidia and Codemasters: over £1,600-worth of gaming hardware on which to play the first next-generation official Formula One game
Codemasters have produced the official Formula One game since 2010 and the sixth edition will be the first for next-generation machines. But the winner of this year’s Predictions Championship will get something extra-special to play it on.
NVidia are supplying a custom-built small form factor gaming PC designed with driving simulations in mind. The SCAN 3XS Sim Driving 5 PC features their GeForce GTX 960 graphics card, and to ensure you enjoy the very best gaming experience they’re providing a BenQ 24-inch NVidia G-SYNC monitor as well.
Naturally you’ll get a copy of Codemasters’ new F1 2015 game. And to ensure you can play it at its very best, a Logitech G27 Ultimate Racing Wheel with Pedals and Gear shift tops off this stunning prize.
Here’s a run-down of the specifications:
- 3.6Ghz dual-core Intel Core i3 4160
- 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 graphics card
- 8GB of 1600MHz Corsair Vengeance DDR3 memory
- Asus H81 motherboard
- 120GB Samsung 850 Evo solid-state disk and 1TB Seagate hard disk
- NVIDIA G SYNC Monitor
- Logitech G27 Ultimate Racing Wheel with Pedals and Gear shift
The winner will need someone to race against, of course. So every other player who finishes in the top 20 positions in the championship will also win a copy of Codemasters F1 2015 for the format of their choice.
Memento Exclusives Brake Disc Clock
Memento Exclusives specialise in ‘upcycling’ used Formula One car parts to create new products. Such as this superb clock created from a brake disc which was previously used by Renault on one of their Formula One cars.
No ordinary timepiece, this unique clock could survive temperatures exceeding 1,000C and slow an F1 car reaching speeds in excess of 200 mph. Worth £299, this wall clock comes with a certificate of authenticity.
- Memento Exclusives are the F1 memorabilia specialists. They take genuine, race-used F1 car parts and give them amazing, yet practical transformations! View their shop
Rob Ijbema painting
Rob Ijbema’s paintings capture the vibrant colour and drama of motor racing. We’re giving you the chance to win a portrait of whichever driver and car from any period of F1 history or other motor racing discipline you choose.
So whichever racing car you’d like to have hanging on your wall, you could have it if your predictions are good enough to net third place in the overall championship.

Signed Nigel Mansell biographies
A new biography of one of Britain’s most beloved world champions is due to hit the shelves later this year. And F1 Fanatic has already bagged five copies signed by the man himself: 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell.
The players who finish from fourth to eighth in the final championship standings will each win one of these signed books from Simon & Schuster.
LEGO® Speed Champions sets
The new LEGO® Speed Champions range is sure to thrill motor sport fans with its officially-licensed Ferrari, McLaren and Porsche racing models.
We have a selection of the seven different Speed Champions sets to be won throughout the season by whoever makes the best prediction in each round of the championship. They include the F14 T and Scuderia Ferrari Truck, McLaren Mercedes Pit Stop and Porsche 911 GT Finish Line.
See here for more on the LEGO® Speed Champions range:
2014 season review video
Thanks to Duke Video, the runner-up in each round of the championship will win an official 2014 Formula One season review video.
Re-live the best moments of the season in four action packed hours as we follow the intense Championship title battles with previously unseen footage and audio recordings you won’t have heard before.
Winners can choose between the Blu-Ray and DVD version of the review as they prefer.
Classic Autocourse eBooks
Here’s a real treat for Formula One history buffs. Early editions of Autocourse’s annuals sell for hundreds of pounds – but you can now get all the same content in eBook form at a great value price. And if you finish in third place in any of this year’s races, you’ll win one!
The original books have been scanned in high resolution and offered as fully searchable digital page turning editions supplied on DVD. Each page can be magnified to view the text and fully appreciate the stunning photography in each of the historic editions.

Congratulations to all winners and thanks to @keithcollantine for this game, I luckily won a Grand Prix Heroes Frank Williams DVD edition earlier in the year.
I finished 586th overall this year, but as the world of F1 says: “I’ll come back a lot stronger next year and will strengthen my preparation.”

Thanks Keith, I love F1 with a passion that I wish I understood. This website and tipping competition only enhances my enjoyment of each race. Reading this blog is a daily ritual for me. I sometimes go off to read the official F1 site, but am always drawn back by the independent and levelheaded views of the F1 Fanatics. The sight is well worth the small annual fee to keep it going. I’m a collector and avid reader of F1 books and winning a signed copy of Nigel Mansell’s autobiography is really wonderful! I can’t wait for next season. My only hope is that the “controllers” of F1 also read the comments of the faithful in f1fanatic to take care of the sport we all love. Kind Regards, Daniel Jaksa

Congratulations to you, juan fanger, and to many other winners. Enjoy your prizes!
And also, huge thanks to you, @keithcollantine , for arranging this predictions championship in the first place. I didn’t manage to win anything myself on this season, but I’ll promise to take part in the next year’s championship. It’s just too fun and exciting to be missed out, no matter if you won or lost :)

Congratulations, champ – everybody loves a wobble in the final round. And to everyone who’s won something this year, because I know how tough it is to predict these results – it’s never as simple as two Mercs, two Ferraris and a Williams. But I want to thank my team for doing an amazing job, we’re all working really hard, but it is what it is. For sure. Thanks again for running it, and see you again next year.

Well done to all the prize winners and everyone involved!
I somehow got 4 points more than I fluked last year! Looks like the standard was raised this year (or F1 was more predictable)!

Yes! Yes! Yes! (dubiously raises finger)
This is my first ever WPC (World Predictions Championship) in any category.
I have so many people to thank who made it possible.
Firstly, to everyone back at the factory who put together such a fantastic machine (Terry at the local computer shop). You are so brilliant. I always knew I could rely on it to get me through every race weekend without a problem (at least once I replaced Windows with Linux).
To my race engineer (Mrs Fanger) who supported me so fantastically through every race (“Oh there’s a Mexican race this year? Great, we’ll have Mexican food for dinner”. We’re both foodies and enjoy the cuisine of whereever the current race is being held – including driving 100km to the nearest Austrian restaurant. It’s the only reason she puts up with me swearing at the TV at 3am). While we didn’t always agree on strategy (“Can’t you watch it on the other telly?”), she does allow me to call the pit-stops (finding somewhere to watch a race when we’re away from home – definite favourite this year was watching the British GP at The Dubliner in Stockholm surrounded by Ericsson fans).
To Mark Webber, whose retirement made my 2014 and 2015 seasons better than ever (I would pick him to beat Seb every time).
To Keith “Bernie” Collantine for putting together such an excellent competition. Obviously without all the hard work by the organiser none of this would be possible. And while I might argue that in Formula 1 the spoils should be more evenly divided, I’m going to be a complete hypocrite on this occasion.
And to you all – I have no problem in wishing all the competitors a Merry Christmas and all the best for next season (even @spinynorman, who beat me in the last few races:)
Only one thing left to do – I’m off for some celebratory doughnuts!
Cheers,
Juan Fanger
