  1. Haas are really good at this strategy thing

  2. This was a race for the next generation. Stand out performances from Vandoorne, Wehrlein, Verstappen and Grosjean. Excellent viewing from that point of view and shows that the future of F1 is in good hands, in terms of the drivers, anyway

    1. Don’t forget Ricciardo here. He may have had a few lonely races, but has comfortably finished “Best of the Rest” in 2 races now. No-one has even bothered to challenge him there. He also must be up there for most overtakes in the season so far.
“Best of the rest” is no small feat this year either, drivers for RB, FI, Williams, HAAS and TR could all do it. But Ricciardo is doing it comfortably right now. His results are nothing less than is expected of him these days, so I think people don’t rate him highly enough for the job he is doing.

  3. I really hope that Rosberg gets the recognition he deserves for five consecutive wins.

That is a great achievement, no matter who the team or driver.

    1. Yes it is and Nico joins quite a good company there – Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Nigel Mansell, Jim Clark, Jack Brabham, Alberto Ascari and Sebastian Vettel. And he does that while having Lewis as a teammate. Not bad at all!

      1. Add Jenson Button to that list too

        1. I will when he achieves 5 victories in a row ;)

  4. Nico has driven wonderfully. Hamilton’s pole lap was stunning but Nico deserves credit. also good to see young drivers performs well! Vandoorne, Grosjean, Wehrlein, Verstappen… I’m missing Alonso though.

    1. Agreed Eggry – Another great race for Rosberg!
Good comeback though also from Hamilton, as for Kimi. Both appeared to have botched the start.
Will be interesting to see if Rosberg can keep Hamilton behind him this year. Will we see a more aggressive Hamilton, will the off-track games commence? Will Mercedes allow them to battle it all out on the track?
I also miss Alonso. But among the frontrunners please. Good also we see signs that Vettel/Kimi might have a better chance this season to challenge Mercedes for wins.

  5. Young drivers were great. Nico is driving masterfully.
Bottas trashed the fight for the win, but it was another good race.

  6. Why are we even debating the Halo when a bigger issue is that the FIA can’t show the black and orange flag to a car when bits are about to fall off???

No point in the Halo when they can’t even be bothered to do that. Clearly not as in interested in real safety. Just want to appear to be doing something so they can all pat their selves on the back.

  7. Anyone notice when they show you the reply of Lewis little nock at start he was in car 6 not number 44? Number 4 is rosbergs car explain why he was on the wrong car!!

    1. The Petronas-logo looks like a 6 from the angle the onboard-camera shows, which indeed may be a bit confusing.

  8. While Hamilton didn’t win, I think his third place in a car that was damaged was a good result. By finishing third he lost only 10 points in this race to Rosberg, whereas if he’d retired he’d have been 25 points down on him.

    1. With the damage the car obviously had right after the incident, I was sure that he would not be able to drive to the finish – impressive that he was able to finish the race.

  9. DotW is going to be a tough call. So many really solid drives. Rosberg was fast in practice, was only just barely out-qualified by Ham, got the better start and dominated the race. Romain qualified exactly where he needed to, got a great start, kept his nose clean with the fracas right in front of him at the start, made passes on track to make his strategy work, and brought home a big haul of points. Then there’s Vandoorne and Wehrlein being solid. And Ricciardo again getting the best out of that Red Bull.

  10. MAG was also impressive, getting that much out of the Renault, despite being inferior on top speed and engine power on this track. He couldn’t get past Wehrlein, complained about it and Renault took him in for an earlier pitstop, which then got him in front. MAG and Renault went from pitlane start to 11th without a strategy of less pitstops. But many good drives: Rosberg, Kimi, Grosjean, Wehrlein and especially Vandoorne was impressive – debut under difficult conditions of just being standin for Alonso for 1 or 2 races: Then getting more out of the McHonda than either of the 2 world champion regular drivers, hehe. He is certainly one to look out for.
