  1. What is depressing is that even though Nico was not pushing and posted only the 6th fastest lap, the Ferrari are still behind them by 2 tenths. And it’s not as if they didn’t push. They were out of position and needed to gain places.
Plus, Mercedes seem to exactly know how many tenths ahead of a full power Ferrari they are. They seem to have dialed down Nico’s engine to be precisely one or two tenths ahead of a full power Ferrari. Even Lewis with a damaged floor is only few hundredths behind the 2 Ferrari.

    1. Ferrari aren’t running at full power acc. to some reports. Issues with the turbo operating at max. rpm. Secondly Lewis was faster every time after the pits. The effect of the damages he had is in having uneven tire wear and hence the reason why he was progressively slower. And of course the screwed up Aero when following another car.

Vettel had damaged FW all through the race which would have some limitations on the pace that he could have gone.

Mediums are not that bad a tire for that circuit. Since the temperatures were conductive to them performing well on that day. Check Kimi’s and Ricciardo’s final stints to see how fast they are.

But I am not sure if Ferrari will be able to pass the Mercs as it still seems difficult to pass cars that are more or less matched in pace.

  2. I believe this 18 y.o. boy can become champion next year..

    1. It depends primarily on the machinery.
