Juan Pablo Montoya’s pole lap in 2002 = 1:12.836 whereas Rubens (2004) lap record stands at 1:13.622. So that’s one record down, one to go….Who said these cars aren’t quick enough? There’s a lot more to come..

@baron Quick question here: was the race fuel rule for qualifying in effect in 2002?

Wouldn’t Magnussen have to start from the pitlane, elevating Ericsson to p21?

I agree with Christopher, I believe MAG will change his chassis -> start from pit-lane.
Also, let’s keep an eye on Haryanto : he hit the wall quite hard, could be a gearbox change..

@LesCanardsEternels Not necessarily as his car didn’t get that much physical damage, so it should require a change of monocoque (chassis).

I hope Bernd Maylander is on holiday at the moment as it looks like it’s going to be a wet race tomorrow, and I don’t want another dull safety car start. Eighties mode is the best thing I have ever seen on the internet in a while!
