Not so fast. His starts are still marginally worse than ROS’ and, more importantly, the upgraded power units of Ferrari and Red Bull might just force Merc into an unplanned acceleration of their own power unit upgrade. On recent evidence, the Red Bull chassis has now edged ahead of the pack and Merc appear only marginally better than Ferrari. Given the phased transitioning of resources to the development of next season’s new-era car, the stage certinly looks set for a good slog between the top-three. I admit to a tad of wishful thinking here, but the expectation of stiffer competition is realistic.

Cannot agree anymore. Ferrari made the wrong call but Hamilton did everything he needed to do. made the tires last and seem that they were in better shape than Vettels at the end. The title is his to lose for sure.

Interesting to see that sainz is only 6 points behind kvyat despite having a redbull for the first few races and a podium.

Really worried about Sauber future… Far from any points and well of the pace, they have also nearly diminished from TV cameras during races, which is again demotivating for sponsors.
And frankly Renault is in similar situation, the team was formed while a split from RB seemed inevitable. Nevertheless since they renewed deal with RB and Toro Rosso (and with improved engine and fantastic RB chasis put the team to the top again, and with aero changes for next year…) I don´t see a point in keeping their own team in F1. Surely lets see how they cope with the regulation changes, but I can hardly see them beating RB on field of aerodynamics and thus winning any races or even championships.

I wouldn’t worry about Renault, they are rebuilding and purchased Lotus very late in the year. They’ll come right eventually.

I bet Rosberg regrets already his Monaco team orders compliance, it is amazing just how quickly things can turn around in F1, from 43 points lead to just 9 points, Mercedes really needs to sort out their starts hickups.
