   Also loving how Raikkonen managed to tie with Vettel despite Vettel clearly outperforming him since the start of the year and how Verstappen is quickly gaining on Ricciardo.

      Raikkonen is clearly not new to the bad luck department. His race was a little bit ruined by the safety car today… I think he could have done better.

      It’s not really a valid comparison. They’ve each had two DNFs, but Vettel didn’t even start one of the races.

      Raikkonen has been closer to Vettel than he has been to either Alonso in 2014 or Vettel in 2015. If Ferrari didn’t keep on putting him on the same strategy as Vettel despite not having the track position for it (like getting caught in traffic in Canada) or just generally silly strategies (getting undercut by both Red Bulls this weekend) perhaps he’d be in front of Vettel by some 10 points by now.

      But surely there’d be another reason Raikkonen would be doing poorly then. He isn’t the Kimi he was in 2005, but he wasn’t at Lotus either, so I’m not sure where all the negativity is coming from.

   So after 9 rounds, compared to 2015:
   1 (2) Nico Rosberg 153 (177) -22 points
   2 (1) Lewis Hamilton 142 (194) -52 points
   3 (3) Sebastian Vettel 96 (135) -39 points
   3 (5) Kimi Raikkonen 96 (76) +20 points
   5 (10) Daniel Ricciardo 88 (36) +52 points
   6 (14) Max Verstappen 72 (10) +62 points
   7 (4) Valtteri Bottas 54 (77) -23 points
   8 (12) Sergio Perez 39 (15) +24 points
   9 (6) Felipe Massa 38 (74) -36 points
   10 (10) Romain Grosjean 28 (17) +11 points

   Safe to say Romain’s move to Haas has paid off and we’ve had more diverse point scorers than last year.

   It’s not looking good for Kvyat..

   As for the teams:

   Clear to see Red Bull, McLaren and Haas are pulling some punches here, while Renault and Sauber, much like their track position, leave much to be desired. Interesting to see Ferrari has failed to capitalize on Mercedes’ lower points tally so far, then again they do still go with typical Ferrari strategies, dropping their drivers mid-pack and letting them get undercut..
