Silly question of the day:
Let’s suppose that the driver who makes the best time in Q3 gets a penalty (i.e. for changing the gearbox or whatever) and does not sit in the pole on Sunday, does it still count for the pole winner stats?

This has come up a few times before and it’s a definite “no” for me. How can any driver other than the one who starts from pole position be considered as the pole sitter? Lots of past examples here:

Did stewards even investigate Vettel for blocking?

No – http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/vettel-pleads-guilty-on-blocking-hamilton-but-no-investigation-844738/
More inconsistency from the FIA, no surprises there. I am not saying he deserves a penalty but we have to have consistency from the rules or it just makes the sport a farce.

Fred beat Yenson once again. Put Stoff in the seat right away.

So, who’s on what tyres?
Are both RBs on SS? Can they use the undercut at the first stops?
How dirty is the dirty side of the grid?
Could be very interesting, equally the Mercs are probably good enough on the medium tyres to make it not very interesting!
