Both Ferraris lapped quicker than race-winner Valtteri Bottas in his Mercedes. But Lewis Hamilton in the team’s other car was even further off the pace.
Hamilton’s performance was one of the most surprising aspects of the Russian Grand Prix. He complained of poor rear grip in qualifying and his race was compromised by overheating problems. In the closing stages of the race he was one-and-a-half seconds off Kimi Raikkonen, who once again was flying in the final laps.
Sebastian Vettel might have been able to go even faster but he was stuck on the tail of Bottas over the closing laps. Ferrari’s pace advantage at the end wasn’t enough to get him ahead of the Mercedes, though it was close.

Pressed his ‘do fastest lap’ button again. It’s a wonder it doesn’t wear out.

Interesting that Massa has the 4th fastest lap. I think he will have managed to finish the race in 6th quite easily if he didn’t have his slow puncture. That was rather unlucky. He then could have kept Williams very close to Force India in the championship.
