I was a bit sceptical of how those numbers on the Mercedes looked, but having seen pictures of them in reality, they actually look really good. Still not sure it will be easy to see at the track when in motion, but on TV it should help. The blue for BOT is a bit darker, and the new fin shape gives it more space to look good too. Ferrari’s way of doing the number on the nose in contrastlooks quite basic, but easily works.
The Mercedes upgrades look phenomenal. I’d say it’s close to a B spec car looking at how everything’s changed. Their development was barley hyped because of the Red Bull RB13B/RB14 rumours but so far Mercedes looks like they’ve made a massive leap. We’ll see how much speed they have on Saturday and we’ll definitely see over the weekend what the Red Bull has created. I don’t think Red Bull will compete with Mercedes and Ferrari, but I think instead of averaging 1.5s behind a lap, they may be 0.5s a lap behind. And they can develop through the year, and hopefully their engine upgrades in Canada or Austria are worth 0.3s of a lap, bringing their deficit doen to within 2-3 tenths of the top 2.
We were all expecting a big update from Red Bull but it looks like Mercedes have gone to town on the W08…they have an enormous update package for Barcelona.
The 2 seater F1 car looks like it doesn’t have any view for the passenger. That would be very scary indeed.
I’m not a big fan of Ferrari’s new numbers, but then again I thought the changes were not that necessary anyway. I don’t particularly like Williams’ new numbers either
Wow the development race is ON! The new bits on the Mercedes look incredible. Also love the numbers on the cars, Ferrari has done such a good job with it.
ah come on thats not how f1 should be @redbullf1
the simple thing people forget is that merc didn’t brought any updates to first 4 races and they brought all of them here as a very very big package instead Ferrari did the opposite and brought small updates to every race.
If merc feels they can work them then its better onus is on Ferrari to make Merc work cut out. I think their chassis is really good this year (surprise who would say that a year ago at the earliest) on par with Merc mega chassis or may be slightly better. I hope they are closely matched but if merc pull ahead then its Ferrari turn to bring them down. The real fun / challenge of Ferrari is beating merc when every thing is working rather than beating them when they are not working. that is how a team can be#1.
So secretly hope Ferrari can challenge from now for me i think Ferrari can respond (i wouldn’t say that a year before)
Thanks for every other fantastic post. The place else could anyone get that kind of info in such an ideal manner of writing?
I’ve a presentation next week, and I’m at the look for such info.

I hope Ferrari uses THE driver’s number style. I mean, I’m used to seeing Vettel’s 5 with that particular font, as well as Kimi’s 7.

Ferrari were one of the few with legible numbers on the nose in the first place.
I do quite like their new ones too though (from the pictures above) – the one on the shark fin in particular reminds me of this.
