The first-lap collision in the Spanish Grand Prix presented an opportunity which several teams seized upon to score big results.

First among them was Force India. They claimed fourth and fifth places thanks to Sergio Perez and Esteben Ocon, who dodged the unfolding chaos.

Nico Hulkenberg did even better, gaining six places in his Renault. He picked up one more position by the end of the race to finish sixth, albeit a long way behind the leaders.

On the other side of the coin Felipe Massa lost nine places due to his first puncture. He managed to recover and passed his team mate shortly before the race finishes.

  1. So Stroll was 50 seconds ahead of Massa at the start, and finished 12 seconds behind. Felipe had 2 separate incidents, and lost a front wing and yet lapped quicker than Lance for the whole race except 4 laps.

He -Stroll- said this race would show his real level. It think it did, my God, he is BAD.

  2. What happened to the Williams pay driver on the last few laps?

    1. He badly flat-spotted a tire at the end of the race.
