    Underdogs, sure.

    1. wink wink

    2. @rocketpanda Yep Toto was lying. They knew they were super favourite this weekend, if they were to fail at this track the championship would completely turn into Ferrari’s favour. Wolf was trying to take the pressure and expectation off themselves.

Yeah, there is a reason why he is called wolf! They were prepping to burn some oil. I wonder if the amount of oil burned during one lap in exactly the same as FIA’s limit.

    3. That ferrari dominance was clear today wasn’t it?

  2. I’m really well set for the prediction championship. Got the qualifying time wrong though. I think after p2 and particularly p3 it was pretty clear that Mercedes were sandbagging, particularly Hamilton, going 10 kph slower on the speed traps, running high fuel, I think their qualifying strategy was better as well, a bit like Monaco teams choose to run as much as they can on the quicker tyre to get the q3 lap just right. Actually surprised not to see a front row lockout, guess Bottas is only 1st or 3rd.

I’d say that other than today, Bottas has overall been equal to Hamilton in qualifying. It was 3-3 after all.
and 2 of those 3 times, Bottas beat Hamilton by a huge margin. Nearly half a second in Russia and was clearly much better in Monaco too as Hamilton didn’t get through to Q3. This is the first time Bottas has been over 3 tenths behind. He’s been pretty close every other race even if it did result in starting 3rd. Raikonnen has clearly been the slowest driver out of these 2 teams this year I’d say in both qualifying and the race.

Even in this qualifying session. Bottas did do 2 personal best sectors and then locked up in the final one. He just made a mistake. He wasn’t slow exactly slow. I think he’ll have managed 2nd if it wasn’t for this but Hamilton just seemed to be the best out there today.

      1. Yeah on average Bottas was more than a tenth ahead of Hamilton actually.

Ohh dear Dani boy, your boy has done it again!

  5. Max ahead of RIC again :) And the Senna helmet gift is brilliant!!

Exciting to see the battle between VET and HAM. From what I read it must’ve been quite a pole lap. Didn’t get to see the qualy here in Greece on my holiday.

Tomorrow I’ll have proper wifi so I can check it and the race as well in Dutch tv on my iPad.

    I’m looking forward to it.

  6. Young Occon is slowly creaping up on Perez… Great steady progress

    1. Ocon seems pretty great. Very nice personality too.
