What. A. Lap.

And a fantastic interview after, his face when he saw the Senna helmet was amazing.

This ‘new’ F1 is much better. Such a shame Ecclestone didn’t leave earlier.

  1. That comment was pure gold, Seb. He’s so quick for joking like that!

    1. Maybe it’s me being dense here but from the transcription, it’s not clear to me if it was meant to be a joke or a genuine question. In a way that’s what makes the exchange even greater!

    2. Yea I laughed out loud at that one. Seb has a good sense of humor.

    3. Apologies; what are you referring to @fer-no65?

      1. Same question. Which comment by Seb?

          About Lewis’ stamp above

  2. I’m so happy that McLaren are back on the top step of the podium for the first time in years. Perhaps no engine is better than a bad engine?

Has Kvyat been taking interview lessons from Raikkonen. That’s a brilliant response

  3. LOL at Vettel and Kvyat. Hilarious.

Sorry, but which one are you referring to? I seem to be out of the loop.

      1. Check the tweets.

Loved the Senna helmet moment, Lewis was clearly touched. Probably the nerd in me but I felt so uncomfortable when he tore it out of it’s protective box and started throwing it around haha. Thought he was gonna do keepy uppies with it at one point!

    1. Luckily it was actually a replica the real one will be sent to him later on but it was cool to see his reaction, like a kid on christmas.

Ah right I missed that detail

  5. That Byron Young tweet was classless and utterly disrespectful. On one hand he’s congratulating Hamilton on a wonderful achievement whilst at the same time shaming him.

Hamilton has never said he wanted to be like Senna, always said he inspired & looked up to him. So to say ‘he ain’t no Senna’, was just silly.

Does he think Lewis does not know he’s not Senna? No one can be Senna just like no one can be Hamilton.

Yes Hamilton may rub people the wrong way at times, but sometimes the personal dislike can be put to the side & just congratulate someone on a wonderful achievement.

    1. @kgn11 Byron Young’s tweets are always a steaming pile of garbage. I followed him for a bit, he’s actually a Lewis fanboy. This tweet throws me for a loop, don’t take anything he says for face value. His takes are awful.

I also agree with you. I despise Lewis, but man that was one hell of a lap. Huge respect.

    2. I think you are just getting annoyed about your favorite driver a bit too much mate.
The way you see is how the world works , speak what is in their mind and doesn’t need whether its acceptable or not. Its not just about Lewis or Sebastian or Alonso , Its the same for almost every sports player/ athlete. You just have to accept that and have a laugh and Move on.

  6. So now that McLaren has won a race, Fernando will have to stay with them!

    1. Haha, so true! They found the loophole they were looking for.

  7. Guys, it’s been confirmed: Alonso to stay at McLaren for 2018 after they took their first victory in four and a half years.

    1. McLaren-Honda dramatically improved both its reliability and performance
Power unit, suspensions, hydraulics,… not a single failure to report!
