Nine drivers now have grid penalties for the Italian Grand Prix following the announcement of three further sanctions on Sunday morning.

Stoffel Vandoorne, Romain Grosjean and Sergio Perez have all been penalised for changing parts on their car.

Vandoorne has taken the largest penalty, moving back 25 places on the grid due to a power unit change. He has taken his tenth turbocharger (from a maximum of four), tenth MGU-H and seventh engine and MGU-K.

Grosjean and Perez have both been given five-place penalties for gearbox changes.

The latest sanctions means nine of the drivers on the grid now have a total of 150 places of grid penalties between them. Daniel Ricciardo, Carlos Sainz Jnr, Fernando Alonso, Max Verstappen, Nico Hulkenberg and Jolyon Palmer are the other drivers to have been given penalties.

    1. 9/20 drivers with grid penalties… Mental.

    2. Some seem ridiculous but they net a mixed up grid, interesting recovery drives, and reflect team decisions within rule book and driver style – I say keep them.

    3. One more, and Martin Brundle said he would go home and not bother coming back :P

    4. *Five-place penalt

      hilarious.

    5. All drivers must start from the back of the grid it seems

      1. That’s actually section 38.3, “j” of the sporting regulations.
