Sebastian Vettel set the fastest lap of the United States Grand Prix with a time just one-thousandth of a second faster than Valtteri Bottas managed.
A fresh set of rubber a few laps from home allowed Kevin Magnussen to record the third-quickest time of the race as he brought up the rear of the pack in his Haas.
The Hamilton of the midfield was Esteban Ocon, who exercised discipline on a one-stop strategy to bring his car home sixth. This was despite only setting the 13th-fastest lap time and having to off an attack from Carlos Sainz Jnr.

Fairly embarassing for Bottas that he couldn’t get fastest lapnon the ultra softs.

Hartley looked strong in the final stint vs Kvyat… would interesting to see like for like race pace if Hartley hadn’t gotten stuck behind Stroll during the first stint…

…Although didn’t notice Kvyat’s stint length…

Hartley definitely the faster of the two STR’s in race trim, being stuck behind Stroll masked what had potential to be a points finish.
Kvyat really doesn’t have much of a case to think he’s been hard done by, he was underwhelming in 2016, and even more so in 2017, really he’s had 15 more GP’s than most would have given him.

Low fuel, new Ultras and he probably charged the battery on his outlap to have maximum power on his fast lap.
I remember Alonso doing the same thing in Abu Dhabi two years ago, in the closing stages of the race.
