Carlos Sainz Jnr wasn’t able to score points in his second weekend at Renault due to more technical trouble.

It was a tricky weekend for Haas. Romain Grosjean had this spin in practice and both drivers struggled in qualifying, though Kevin Magnussen brought his car home in the points.

The home favourite Sergio Perez was out-qualified and, later out-raced by young team mate Esteban Ocon.
Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel
The moment which defined the race came shortly after the start. Max Verstappen squeezed ahead of pole sitter Sebastian Vettel, who then clashed with championship rival Lewis Hamilton.
Lap 19
On the 19th lap of the race the fans raised their fists in a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the recent earthquake which killed hundreds of people.
Lewis Hamilton
Ninth place was enough for Lewis Hamilton to clinch his fourth world championship title. He celebrated with a few doughnuts in the Foro Sol stadium.
Max Verstappen
Verstappen led from start to finish, taking his third career win.
