Kimi Raikkonen is one power unit part change away from taking a 10-place grid penalty after new parts were fitted to his Ferrari ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix.
Ferrari has fitted a second new control electronics unit to his car. Drivers are limited to a maximum of two control electronics units for the season, meaning he will receive an automatic grid penalty if he fits another before the end of the season.Red Bull has also fitted a new turbocharger to Max Verstappen’s car, the second of the three he is allowed to use during the season.
Drivers receive 10-place grid penalties the first time they exceed their power unit part allocation. They may use a maximum of three engines (ICE), MGU-Hs and turbos, and two energy stores, control electronics and MGU-Ks.

More than half of the drivers are still in their first ICE (Engine).

But 7 of them have already use 2 CE units which mean a 10-place grid drop for the next one… I don’t get why this component was limited to 2 for 3 engines as it doesn’t seem to be more reliable than the rest looking at the table.

Bottas also used the second CE.
