Stoffel Vandoorne

Friday was very wet.
Charles Leclerc

This off-track excursion by Charles Leclerc indirectly led to a setback for his future team mate Sebastian Vettel. The Ferrari driver failed to slow down for the subsequent red flags in time and copped a three-place grid penalty.
Circuit of the Americas

More rain was forecast on Saturday, but the weather took an unexpected turn for the better.

What America’s F1 fans lack in relative numbers they more than make up for in enthusiasm.
Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen

For the second year running Lewis Hamilton lost the lead from pole position to a Ferrari, though this time it was Kimi Raikkonen.
Daniel Ricciardo

Yet another Renault technical failure forced Daniel Ricciardo out. Is he beginning to have second thoughts about his move for 2019?
Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton

Raikkonen and Hamilton continued their battle later in the race. But with one eye on the championship, Hamilton played it safe, and waited until Raikkonen pitted to retake the lead.
Kimi Raikkonen

After Hamilton was forced to pit for a second time, Raikkonen held off Max Verstappen and the Mercedes to end his five-and-a-half year victory drought.

Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton

If he had to be beaten by one of the Ferraris, Hamilton would surely have preferred it to be Raikkonen, and he extended his points advantage over Vettel.

I love the picture of Kimi and Lewis. It’s good to see Kimi smiling as it’s quite a rare event.
I have never been Kimi’s biggest fan but this race was a well deserved victory.

Yes it’s lovely to see the man smile again. But I do wonder if Vettel had’t got that penalty if Kimi had been forced to accept second, would he still be smiling?
Doesn’t matter. He won and he’s smiling. Good for Kimi.
