  1. Regarding Hamilton/Sirotkin, I think that Mercedes are stopping Williams from sending in a complaint. Williams do use Mercedes engines after all. Because otherwise it’s a slam dunk penalty.

    1. @kingshark Pretty sure stewards can investigate it whether Williams sends a complaint or not.

    2. That would be insane. What Hamilton did was outright dangerous and should be investigated regardless of team politics.

      1. @rethla Sirotkin was messing around on his outlap, speeding up and slowing down, is Hamilton supposed to read whatever is passing through whatever passes as Sirotkin’s ‘mind’?

          1. Right! Well thanks for confirming your not serious and just want Hamilton penalized anyhow.

    3. Wrong. He was on an outlap. No harm done so let’s not make up fake news.

      1. Dangerous driving is dangerous driving, outlap or not. Also, getting a good exit out of Juncao is important for a hot lap around Interlagos.

        1. Crofty is very often wrong @kingshark so I wouldnt take his word as gold. Watch Hamilton’s pole lap and he’s almost stopping around the last corner. Yes you need a good exit but this all happened with more than enough time to not impact his next lap.

        2. You should note that HAM actually moved off the racing line. SIR then moved off the racing line and confusion ensued. It WAS a very dangerous incident but I’m not sure HAM was entirely to blame, especially given SIR was on an out lap. Maybe Lewis shouldve been more aware but the team wouldnt tell him a driver on their out lap was approaching. I Don’t know…a penalty wouldn’t be ridiculous but maybe quite harsh.
VETS incident… well, don’t want to be too harsh on the guy. He obviously knew the weigh in was compromising their strategy but it’s just another incident of VET losing his head. Very strange for a German

      2. And on the start of a lap, that got compromised. Would be nice to see some consistent stewarding and no special treatment.

      3. Was it definitely an outlap, seemed to be going pretty quickly at that point on the track?

      4. @tom
Driving slow, not getting out of the way and not keeping his line almost caushing a crash?

    4. Hamilton has been called in by stewards what he did on all 3 occasions was dangerous and he will be penalised.

      1. He WILL be penalised? Are you one of the stewards on duty?

        1. I hope he does, that move was very dangerous and even what he did with Kimi there is no excuse for for doing that. Both the “top” drivers on grid dropped the ball really hard today.

          1. That ‘move’ was attempting to get out of Sirotkin’s way. Sirotkin though had already taken evasive action himself. I realize you’re desperate to see Hamilton penalized but you are allowed to actually consider the situation before making a comment.

    5. I don t see this quite so clear cut. I despise when penalties force their way into championship fights. I m not very convinced Vettel gained particular undue advantage. I do think he did drive dangerously though. I would rather they could have penalties that did not damage the championship fight.

  2. Hamilton should get a penalty for the sake of consistency.

      1. Dangerous driving, that’s why.

      2. Endangering other drivers and impeding a car on fast lap(Kimi).

  3. Well done by Ericsson, a final glimmer.

    1. Yes. That was a good result from him. I’m impressed (although outqualifying a rookie in tricky conditions should be a normal occurrence but hey, the kid is not too shabby)

  4. I know it was an out-lap for Sirotkin, but swerving like that in the middle of the track probably warrants a 3 place grid drop. These cars have mirrors, and Hamilton probably should have been a bit more aware. This incident was somewhat similar to the Hartley-Gasly incident from Baku. And as for Vettel, not sure what the punishment will be. According to Sky F1, a disqualification is a possible option, in which case, just another comeback drive from Vettel I suppose. That would make it 3 of his last 4 races, and 5th in 20 races this season.

    1. @mashiat You would be tired of people constantly questioning your Race craft and claiming you could only drive off the front row at some point as well, i’m sure.

  5. Good God McLaren, can’t you give Alonso a car than can get him in the low double digits for a couple of races?
What a disgrace they have become!
