The countdown to the start of the 2019 F1 season is underway.
What does the new championship have in store for Formula 1 fans? We’ll begin to find out when we get our first glimpses of the new cars in February.
The anticipation will increase later that month when the new cars make their first on-track appearances in testing. The pre-season running will be particularly important as six drivers have changed teams and six more are new or returning to F1.
2019 F1 car launches
Some teams have announced the dates on which they will launch their new cars. Others have announced plans for ‘season launch’ events but haven’t confirmed whether they will present their 2019 machines before testing. Here are the confirmed dates so far:
- 7th February: Haas – livery launch and first look at new VF-19
- 11th February: Toro Rosso
- 11th February: Williams (livery launch)
- 12th February: Renault (season launch)
- 13th February: Mercedes
- 13th February: Red Bull
- 13th February: Racing Point (season launch)
- 14th February: McLaren
- 15th February: Ferrari
- 18th February: Alfa Romeo

2019 F1 pre-season testing
Eight days of pre-season testing will be held before the first race of the year. Each team will be allowed to run a single car:
- Test one: 18th-21st February, Circuit de Catalunya, Spain
- Test two: 26th February – 1st March, Circuit de Catalunya, Spain
