In the round-up: Lando Norris says his familiarity with the McLaren is allowing him to adapt to a new circuit more quickly this weekend.
What they say
It’s been a reasonable day. Obviously my first time here so it’s never easy but I got up to speed quicker than I did in Australia. Probably because I’m just more used to the car and everything, which is a good thing.
We already made some steps forward from [first practice] to [second practice]. We had some quite limiting problems in FP1 balance-wise which we kind of fixed but we just need to make sure we keep going in that direction for tomorrow.

30 years ago, moments before start of Long Beach GP, Paul Newman took PA microphone and read this very special letter to @MarioAndretti and fans. President's words in 2d paragraph remain true to this day. A great career moment/memory for me. I hope Mario still has this framed. pic.twitter.com/rb431LUeV4

This is so funny. I asked @PierreGASLY for a selfie. He took my phone to snap it himself but he carried on walking. So here I was trying to catch up and smile 😊 #ChineseGP #Race1000 #1000GP pic.twitter.com/yc7ycs4IHI

Does Lewis Hamilton have a fight on his hands this weekend?
The good aspect of this circuit that I like is that you can overtake, so grid position is not as in important as other tracks. With DRS being more powerful this year than last I am really looking forward to this grands prix.
As for Lewis, deep down I think he realizes that he was fortunate in Bahrain and knows that this season is going to be a lot tougher than recent years past. He is just being honest. If Red Bull can sustain a good race pace, things on Sunday may get very interesting.

– That’s equally through for Bahrain as well, though, and COTA, for example.
