  1. seeing Hamilton battle on against the odds in inferior machinery just never gets old for me <3 #blessed #stillirise

    1. Congrats Lewis

    2. But Ferrari are faster on the straights!

      1. Maybe we should burry this saying from now on, it’s not a dragsters race! Plus, it could be setup related, not 100% engine. As Mercedes said, there’re like 15 corners. In the end, it doesn’t look like it serves them much in races anyway, I think Mercedes managed more overtakes over Ferrari at the end of straights than Ferrari over Mercedes.

        1. You must be new here :^)

    3. @mrboerns miracles do happen, mate!

  2. Ferrari’s playing the team order games way too early into the season.

    1. It’s also quite pointless given how much “advantage” they have over Mercs.

when at the time Vettel looked to be being held up and Verstappen was catching, i see no problem with orders at all. Vettel did not do that well after that, but that was too late. I would not be against any team letting a faster driver past if another teams driver is catching up. At least when there is not too much risk timewise by letting them through.

      1. Not sure that it is a good idea @thegianthogweed, @jerejj, when the pace difference is so small as it was (and Ferrari should have been able to see that, right?), it loses a bit of time to switch, and it frustrates one driver who was ahead on merit up to that point. Yes, if there’s a clear pace difference, or different strategy/one fighting for the wdc, other not, but today it didn’t really seem worth it. But, well, I guess my icon shows I might be biased there :)

      2. @thegianthogweed, you kind of get the impression that Ferrari were likely to be criticised whatever they did in that situation.

As you note, there was the impression that Leclerc was holding Vettel up a bit – the radio transmissions suggested that Leclerc was pretty much on the limit of what he could do – and, with Bottas beginning to edge away slightly from Leclerc, I imagine that they might have been criticised for allowing Bottas to get away from them.

It looked like a logical decision to switch the two drivers around – the fact that it did not then work out as planned is another matter, but the logic behind that decision made sense at the time.

Welcom to Ferrari leclerc. Where you have the first driver and the “I don’t know what to do with this guy” driver. Again, horrible strategy for the second driver.

  4. Lewis drove superbly and Mercedes have a done a great job in developing a fast car.

    1. I tottally not expected that tortoicedes to improve so much and so competitive and lucky :)

  5. What Ferrari did is definitely not a team work. Remember what Kimi did last year? It was ok to let Seb pass at the beginning, but he should stay at the back of his teammate when he getting close after his 2nd stop. He was fast, but not fast enough to pass Bottos. Seb was much faster than Lec, and Ves was chasing them. But if Seb could hold behind his teammate, I don’t think Max could pass him. Then Ferrari could get a 3rd and 4th. That is a team win, not now 3nd and 5th. Really disappointed.

  6. In the race results page, could you please mention the fastest lap winner as there is now one point counting for championship. Thanks.

    1. @reyfran That’s a good idea, thank you. I’ll look into adding that from the next race.
