There’s one thing I don’t really understand about the scheduling of this GP. Why don’t the Friday sessions start an hour earlier (12:00-13:30 and 16:00-17:30 respectively) so that FP2 would begin on the same hour as the race itself for the sake of consistency? Usually, if qualifying commences either on the following, or the preceding hour to the race on any given weekend the FP2 begins on the same hour with the race, but for some reason not with this nor the Russian GP (where both of these sessions commence at 15:00 while the race itself begins on the preceding hour.) An even better alternative would be to start all of these three sessions on the same hour, which would mean 16:00 for qualifying as well, and therefore, 13:00-14:00 for FP3, but the Friday sessions, at the very least, should be brought forward by an hour not only in Baku but especially in Sochi due to the lack of daylight one of the feeder series’ had to suffer last year due to the timing, and yet it still is the same for this year.
