  1. Kvyat, stroll, Sainz brilliant job.

    1. Verstappen did pretty much everything right. But the highlights of the race were Kvyat, Stroll, Sainz and off course Vettel who came from the back to finish second. Let’s hope this gets him back into his stride.

With the way this is going maybe Marko won’t even be far off with his 6 wins prediction. And how much must he be contemplating putting Kvyat back into the red bull. I guess it might be in part up to what the weather is going to look like in the coming races.

      1. maybe Marko won’t even be far off with his 6 wins prediction

@bascb – very true. Maybe not 6, but a far sight more than many of us expected in this first year.

      2. “Verstappen did pretty much everything right” – apart from a bad start, a serious wobble at the hairpin and a spin…

        1. Spot the salty HAM fan in above comments lol

        2. He got into a spin but didn’t his things. Unlike only too many others.

As for the start, just look at how his teammate did – I would suggest this is a hint of the car having been the issue there, not the driver @gnosticbrian

          1. True, all starts with the Honda engine are not good enough yet. Upon releasing the engine drops in revs a little too much. (Gasly had the same problem). In Germany he was also on the dirt side of the track wich added to the bad start. Ves said in the interview on Dutch TV that Honda is looking for an solution but in the end it didn’t matter.

  2. A questionable move by Albon. A penalty wouldn’t be unjustified.

  3. what a f… race. this guys are the best on earth. respect.

Brilliant job by Max, Vettel, Kvyat, Sainz and Stroll.

  5. Verstappen has now scored more points in a Honda, than McLaren did in 3 years

    Just let that sink in

  6. Nice – 2 Hondas on the podium. Very pleased to see Vettel and Kvyat up there, and well done to Max for delivering at the chequered flag, after a rough initial laps.

    1. Also, that’s quite the Red Bull academy podium.

      1. Nailed It! Kyviat’s comming back from the dead is impressive.

  7. Godawful race!

Kudos to Max for brilliant driving, but others – just awful.

Teams forgetting how to pit, drivers forgetting how to drive!

    1. Can’t be more disappointed with Lewis, his driving and Mercedes as a team.

Yesterday Ferrari had an awful day, but Mercedes decided to “one-up” them.

      1. That’s an honest assessment, good of you. Bear in mind though Lewis almost snuck back in the points, Bottas retired.

The way Bottas retired looked more unfortunate than the others. Obviously his fault, but Bottas’s drive was far better than Hamilton until the stage he spun out. Hamilton just looked to make countless errors and was having his worse race day in years IMO. Despite Bottas retiring, it is quite difficult to say hamilton had a better race. The on track performance we saw, Bottas kept it clean and hamilton was going all over the place. But yes a DNF is worse than still finishing. I’m just basing it on most of what we saw, and i think it was clear Hamilton was struggling a lot more.

          1. @thegianthogweed – good counter-argument.

          2. countless errors

Countless? He lost control twice. Once at the of the lap where everyone was going off anyway, and once in turn 1 just like Bottas (though Hamilton kept it out of the barriers). I just don’t see any evidence for your argument.

      2. Mercs to Ferraris- hold my beer.

  8. Max should 100% start bogging down at the start ever single race now. He seems to win everytime it happens! Seems the curse has moved from Kvyat’s demotions to bad starts.

    1. It’s not a drivers thing, it’s a Honda thing… all starts have been either bad or mediocre this season.
This time it was onviously also the wet track that wasn;t helping

  9. The Marko boys sweep the podium

    1. Marko’s boys. Nice :)
