  1. Great victory by Charles. Kudos to Vettel cause his defense cost Lewis 4 seconds. Great job by Albon and heartbreak for Norris, he drove an excellent race. Well done to Gasly, he seemed reinvigorated after his switch to Toro Rosso.

    1. Yep well done Charles, if ever there was a track to be assured of a first win, this was it. Which begs the question what on earth happened to Vettel, there no reason for Farrari not finishing 1st & 2nd today.

And Ricardo, why why why wasn’t he pitted again? I know he pitted early, but he should surely have pitted again and kept a handful of places. He had the pace to finish in the points.

Once again it’s left to Hamilton to make a race of it, as others drove to save their engines. ;-/

  2. Well done Charles!!

Horrible horrible luck for Norris, great drive from Albon. This weekend belonged to the future of F1.

    1. I agree. Leclerc, Albon, Norris drove brilliantly. Shame Max couldn’t join the party with the avoidable 1st lap incident.

      1. I really feel for Norris, though….. What a brilliant drive and it got him zero points… Even more excruciating is that untalented *** Lance Stroll picking up 10th because of it. Ugh.

As for Verstappen, he said on Dutch TV that his initial reaction wasn’t the best and then he had wheel spin (from flooring it in a panic I guess). He thinks Kimi didn’t see him, but he wasn’t mad at him or anything. I think he just tried to make up for a bad start, taking a big risk into T1 where he should have just accepted his loss and keep his head. Oh well, he’s been mistake-free for 21 consecutive races, this can happen every once in a while.

  3. Finally about time. The people at Alfa Romeo aren’t going to be too pleased on Gio after that crash. Checo’s defending against Albon was a bit questionable, though.

  4. That last lap overtake by Albon looked very dangerous. Either it was too naughty by Perez or Albon.

    1. Perex was pushing him off track it was a bit too much from him.

  5. Heartbroken for Norris and McLaren. Such a solid race and all ruined 1 lap before the end. Strong race by Gasly too.

  6. Yes! Shut my mouth about Vettel and Ferrari!

They did what needed to be done for Ferrari to win.

Albon got what he deserved: A tough race to prove his craft.

And Verstappen got one more lesson: If you have something to loose, hold back.

Thought he learned that in Brazil last year…

    1. He learn to take out Ocon as fast possible but this was just a case too bad(Kimi thought Max wasn’t there but he was just a race incident)

    2. I see no one has said anything about Ferrrari ordering Vettel to let Charles by…. when they could have been left to race.

      Just saying ;-)

    3. And if Kimi had Leclercs seat people would have thought Vettels 3rd would be the maximum Ferrari could have achieved today. Leclerc showing ehat the Ferrari can achieve in capable hands

  7. Good drive/result for Leclerc and Ferrari, sacrificing Vettel was the right move otherwise Mercedes would have undercut him and put Leclerc under huge pressure through tyre wear. Its been easy to criticise them all year but this race they got it just right. Good drive by Hamilton too not letting them get away with cruising. Such a shame about Norris who was my driver of the day. Nice to see Bottas a bit closer all race too even if he turned the engine down after “passing” Vettel.

Was nice to hear Verstappen share some of the blame for his accident too when interviewed.

  8. Chuffed for Leclerc. Gutted for Norris.

Vettel plsyed the tesm game well, but wow… he’s now only the 3rd last guy to win a race for Ferrari!
