Formula 1 teams have confirmed their driver arrangements for the first pre-season test of 2020.
[smr2020test]Three days of testing will begin at the Circuit de Catalunya tomorrow, followed by another three from Wednesday to Thursday next week.
The reduction from two four-day tests last year to a pair of three-day outings this year has prompted several teams to split the running between their drivers on individual days. Mercedes intend to do this on all three days, and say they will confirm exact details of who will drive for them on a day-by-day basis.
Renault, Racing Point, Williams and Alfa Romeo will also split their first day of running between two drivers. Robert Kubica is the only non-race driver currently scheduled to participate in the test, and will be first to drive the C39 tomorrow.
Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen will each have a full day at the wheel of their new cars on Monday before handing over to their respective team mates.

All teams except Alfa Romeo and Renault (Mercedes excluded due to the lack of confirmation at this point) follow the same pattern of both drivers getting one full and a half test-day each.

Lewis Hamilton is already on a winning streak.
He’s the shared winner of the 2020 Laureus World Sportsman Of The Year.

As well, Seb and Max have full days on Wednesday, not Monday.

F1 is back for one last time!
(yes, I have no hope for anything good in 2021, so will be enjoying 2020 as The End)

@dallein We don’t know at this point how the planned changes are going to pan out when the time comes, so no point in being critical or sad now. Give things a chance first before judging.

I’m so looking forward to next year, as this will be the final year of BE influenced F1, and we’ll be on to a much better product after this.

I’ll be greatly interested to know how effective this round of testing will actually be given they have shortened it.
There’s also next t no time any more for any changes to be made between tests, so if a team turns up with a problem, it may well be that next week will be pretty ineffective as well.

Great to see Robert Kubica in F1, even as a reserve driver for now.
