Wade recalls his father’s encounter with the late Stirling Moss.

My father knew Stirling in the fifties when he was rallying in Europe. He said Stirling was a gentleman, and a kind racer, gave him tips and advice on driving and always had time to talk. My father really respected Stirling in his entire life, which he didn’t do with many people.

I was sad to read that Stirling had passed away and my thoughts and sympathy are with his family.

    What is TMS smoking?

    1. @pastaman They are trying to bring back some normalcy. Within the last week, many state governors have faced protests from their citizens about reopening businesses. I don’t know what its like in other countries, but here in the US, we have already seen how 1 month of inactivity has negatively affected small businesses. We’ve heard that social distancing maybe in effect till 2022 and that fans may not be able to attend sporting events and concerts til 2021. Some businesses can’t last that long and are taking it upon themselves to open early or run the risk of never opening again.

      1. @dragon86 It’s the same everywhere Corey, everyone is suffering as a result of this crisis. Here in the UK people are losing their jobs, businesses are suffering and a recession is around the corner. Giving in to the mob when the time clearly isn’t right is not the right answer.

Not many state governors, just couple and all whipped into action by the same scam artists who work like a russian troll farm. It would be entertaining if the cost wasn’t innocent lives.

    2. Interestingly, streets are most deserted during major events on TV.
We all hope 911 won’t happen again and there is not enough time organise a Moon or Mars landing. Sports is the next big TV magnet and might have a positive effect on nett social distancing.

  2. Vijay thrashed Kingfisher, destroyed leased aircraft for spare parts, didn’t pay employees for months, and then just split. There is no way he has money to repay his bank loans. Let’s not even get into the liquor side of things.

    1. “destroyed leased aircraft for spare parts”

I can verify that statement as I worked for the lessor of those aircraft when Kingfisher Airlines went down.

  3. I see Lando doesn’t dare to show his short-hair on camera anymore, LOL.

  4. Frank lives at the factory?

    1. Yeah @bernasaurus, he mentions it briefly in the “Williams: A different kind of life” film. Frank Williams is nothing without F1…

    2. Complete with huge framed portrait of Thatcher in pride of place on his office wall. Sigh… :(

  5. This guy Capt Tom has become the biggest popular sensation since The Beatles. I expect him to take America by storm next month followed by the rest of the world.

F1 must find a role for him, like maybe hand out the trophies on the podium at the very least. Or replace national anthems with a walk on salute.

  6. Lando just keeps making me a bigger fan.

He’s always approachable, never arrogant, doesn’t take himself too seriously, he throws himself into things and genuinely looks like he enjoys doing things with and for the team.

Zac must be thrilled to have him, and his parents must be proud.
