Ferrari’s drivers will each use a new engine, turbo and MGU-H for the rest of the weekend following the failure on Sebastian Vettel’s car yesterday.
Vettel’s power unit failed shortly before the end of the second practice session, dropping a substantial amount of fluid on the circuit. He said the fault struck with no warning.In response Ferrari has changed his power unit and that of team mate Charles Leclerc. The double change was made “as a precaution”, said Ferrari in a statement.
Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon also had new power units fitted this weekend. Honda said the change was made “to open up flexibility in terms of power unit management”.
In Verstappen’s case all six power unit elements were replaced. Albon did not have a new energy store or control electronics fitted, having already taken new examples earlier in the season.

Does anyone know why the Ferrari customer teams haven’t changed? Do they run a different spec engine?
